Continuous dewatering recirculation system with integral coal combustion residual high flow plate separator

The system for a continuous dewatering recirculating for removing particulate such as coal combustion residue from a water stream. The system includes multiple dewatering and recirculation containers, each having a submerged flight conveyor and lamella settlings plate located therein, at least one dewatering and recirculation container receives ash water stream overflow.

Dynamic plate pack for soil extrusion system

An extrusion system for separating particulates entrained in wash water, e.g. from harvesting tuberous produce, includes a settling tank configured to receive a flow of particulated water. A diffuser suspended within the tank converts the flow of particulated water into multiple transverse flows to avoid churning settled particulates. A particulate filter fixed within the tank includes a central channel surrounded by a cylindrical array of cantilevered parallel vertical blades. The channel directs the flows below the blades, causing dynamic movement of the blades as the particulated water rises therebetween to trap particulates along boundary layers, promote particulate settling by gravity, and allow clarified water to rise to the top of the tank. A sensor detects settled particulate reaching a predetermined setpoint, and in response the system actuates an auger and opens a pinch valve to force concentrated particulate from the bottom of the tank.

SLUDGE WITHDRAWAL MECHANISM FOR WASTING AND RETURNING SETTLED SLUDGE FROM SECONDARY CLARIFIER WITH GRANULAR SLUDGE

An apparatus for wasting flocculant sludge from a clarifier is provided including a wasting pipe fluidly connectable to a waste conduit, a manifold fluidly connectable to the wasting pipe, an upper header for collecting the flocculant sludge fluidly connectable to the manifold, a return sludge pipe fluidly connectable to a return sludge well, a lower header for collecting settled sludge fluidly connectable to the return sludge pipe, and a drive mechanism for rotating the upper header and the lower header about a center axis. A wastewater treatment system is provided including the clarifier fluidly connectable to a source of a mixed liquor and the apparatus for wasting flocculant sludge. A method of separating settled sludge from a clarifier is provided including withdrawing flocculant sludge and withdrawing settled sludge. A method of retrofitting a clarifier is also provided including providing the manifold, the upper header, and the drive mechanism.

Floating liquid intake

A floating liquid intake for a liquid suction removal system, the liquid intake comprising housing defining an internal cavity. The housing has a hollow and buoyant annular body, an upper cover and a lower cover. The internal cavity is formed between the upper and lower covers. A substantially annular inlet is formed in the annular body for ingress of liquid into the cavity. The annular body has a buoyancy sufficient for the liquid intake to float in a liquid with the annular inlet submerged below the surface of the liquid in which the liquid intake is floating. A pipe extends into the cavity and the pipe includes an inlet that in use is open below the surface of the liquid within the cavity. The pipe extends outside of the cavity for connection to a liquid suction removal system.

Cyclonic inlet diverter

A cyclonic inlet diverter for initiating the separation of a multi-phase inlet fluid flow comprises an enclosed tubular body mounted crosswise within a larger separator vessel. The inlet diverter includes a splitter plate positioned within a center portion of the tubular body and configured to split the inlet flow into a first stream and a second stream, and a swirl plate positioned on each side of the splitter plate with angled surfaces configured to increase the cyclonic motion of the first and second streams within the tubular body. The inlet diverter further includes elongate apertures formed through bottom sidewall portions of the tubular body on each side of the splitter plate, an axial aperture formed through opposing end caps of the tubular body, and at least one radial aperture formed through lateral sidewall portions of the tubular body proximate each opposing end cap.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVAL OF CLARIFIED LIQUID
20170326476 · 2017-11-16 · ·

The invention relates first of all to a method for removal of clarified liquid from a liquid basin (N), such as a clarification basin or like, with an apparatus, by means of which clarified liquid is being removed by using a liquid exhaust arrangement (2) and a collecting arrangement coupled therewith. The liquid exhaust arrangement comprises one or more exhaust passages (2a1), existing beneath surface (y) of the liquid basin one after another in longitudinal direction (s) of the liquid basin and comprising a profile with an essentially closed cross section, such as a pipe, channel or like, each passage having a perforation (R) to make possible flow of liquid inside the same. Functioning of the liquid exhaust arrangement is being controlled according to the circumstances, such as due to surface alteration in the liquid basin, by adjusting the amount of liquid to be removed by the exhaust passage (2a1) by changing a flow cross section area beneath the surface (y) of the liquid basin of an open overflow edge (2a2y) of exhaust organs (2a2), being coupled with the perforation (R) in the exhaust passage and having a cross section expanding towards outer end thereof, which is carried out by turning (w) the exhaust organs (2a2) with respect to longitudinal axis (p1) of the exhaust passage (2a1). The invention also relates to an apparatus operating according to the method.
