Magnetic separation device and method of use
The current invention relates to the method and apparatus to magnetically separate biological entities with magnetic labels from a fluid sample. The claimed magnetic separation device removes biological entities with magnetic labels from its fluidic solution by using a soft-magnetic center pole with two soft-magnetic side poles. The claimed device further includes processes to dissociate entities conglomerate after magnetic separation.

Also disclosed is a method for fractionating blood into blood products.
CELL SEPARATION PARTICLES FOR AND/NOT OPERATIONS OR MULTIPLE TARGETS
A method of acoustophoresis using selection particles that alter acoustic response is provided. The method can include selecting a set of selection particles based on surface markers of a plurality of target particles to be separated using acoustophoresis. The method can include incubating the set of selection particles with the plurality of target particles in a solution such that the set of selection particles bind with the surface markers on the plurality of target particles to create a plurality of bound particles. The method can include providing the plurality of bound particles to an acoustophoresis device tuned to separate the particles based on a net acoustic contrast between each of the plurality of bound particles. The method can include receiving a plurality of output streams from the acoustophoresis device that each include a respective bound particle of the plurality of bound particles.

The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for the separation of blood components including separation by rapid sedimentation, including in an automated fashion.
Fluid Treatment Systems And Methods
A system for separating solids from a fluid mixture includes a vessel including a first chamber to receive a solid-laden fluid mixture, and a second chamber to receive liquids separated from the solid-laden fluid mixture. In certain aspects, at least one eductor is disposed in the first chamber to flow the solid-laden fluid mixture out of the first chamber. In certain aspects, an auger is disposed in the first chamber to move at least solids of the solid-laden fluid mixture out of the first chamber.
SEPARATION METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MICROVESICLES
A microfluidic control system and method for separating flexible particles such as cell vesicles or biomacromolecules such as exosomes in a sample. The system of the present invention comprises one or more ultrahigh frequency acoustic resonators. The ultrahigh frequency acoustic resonators are capable of generating in a fluid channel an acoustic wave of which the frequency is about 0.5-50 GHz and propagated towards a wall opposite the fluid channel. By adjusting the power of the generated acoustic wave and/or the speed at which a conditioning solution flows through an acoustic wave area, flexible particles in a specified range are pushed to and remain at the top part of the flow channel in the acoustic wave area, while flexible particles outside of the specified range go downstream via the acoustic wave area to be collected, thus capturing or releasing the flexible particles in a solution such as cell vesicles or biomacromolecules, particularly exosomes.
Rake-free thickening device including driving area
Disclosed is a rake-free thickening device including driving area. The device includes a feed assembly, a diversion assembly and a clean coal collection assembly. The clean coal collection assembly includes a driving area. The diversion assembly includes a central tank. Slime water passes through the feed assembly and flows with a medicament from an upper part of the central tank to a middle of the central tank, and then diffuses around. Bubbles carry the fine slime up after reacting. The driving zone drives the dispersed bubbles to a defoaming zone located in the middle of the central tank. The slime water in the central tank flows through the central tank after defoaming. With the continuously filling of slime water, the slime water above the central tank overflows the central tank to the clean coal collection assembly within the diversion and settlement area.
PARTICLE RECOVERY DEVICE AND PARTICLE RECOVERY METHOD
A particle recovery device for recovering particles contained in a liquid sample, the particle recovery device comprising: a flow cell having a flow path through which the liquid sample flows; a density acquisition unit that acquires a density of the liquid sample; standing wave forming means that applies an ultrasonic wave into the flow path to generate a standing wave; a control unit that determines a frequency of the ultrasonic wave that generates the standing wave in the flow path based on the density acquired by the density acquisition unit and causes the standing wave forming means to apply the ultrasonic wave of the determined frequency; and recovery means that recovers particles focused in the flow path by the standing wave.
MICROPLATE CYCLING THERMO SONICATOR WITH PROGRAMMABLE ULTRASOUND, HEATING, AND COOLING FOR MULTI-ANALYTICAL APPLICATIONS
A sonicator assembly, including: a microplate defining a plurality of wells; a manifold for containing a transducer fluid that is thermally coupled to the plurality of wells of the microplate; an ultrasonic generator operable for applying an ultrasonic excitation to the wells of the microplate; one or more of a heating module thermally coupled to and operable for selectively heating the transducer fluid and a cooling module thermally coupled to and operable for selectively cooling the transducer fluid; and a controller operable for controlling operation of the ultrasonic generator and the one or more of the heating module and the cooling module. The controller is further operable for monitoring a temperature and a pressure within the manifold. A temperature of the plurality of wells is controllable over a temperature range from 4° C. to 95° C. Optionally, the plurality of wells include a plurality of heat-resistant round-bottom hydrophilic wells.

Systems and methods for cleansing blood are disclosed herein. The methods include acoustically separating target particles from elements of whole blood. The whole blood and capture particles are flowed through a microfluidic separation channel formed in a thermoplastic. At least one bulk acoustic transducer is attached to the microfluidic separation channel. A standing acoustic wave, imparted on the channel and its contents by the bulk acoustic transducer, drives the formed elements of the blood and target particles to specific aggregation axes.
