The use of a composition including at least one acido-basic neutralising agent for decontaminating an atmosphere contaminated by a corrosive gas, the acido-basic neutralising agent having at least 2 pKa's and being characterised by: pKa 1≤pKa 2, pKa 1>2, pKa 2<12, 4<½ (pKa 1+pKa 2)<10 pKa 1, representing the smallest of the basic pKa's and pKa 2 representing the largest of the acidic pKa's. Also, a method for decontaminating an atmosphere contaminated by a corrosive gas comprising the spraying of the neutralising agent, and to a decontamination device.
Hydrogen sulfide removal process
A process is presented to treat a process gas stream containing hydrogen sulfide using a reverse jet absorber with a liquid treatment solution containing a chelated metal catalyst. A treat gas substantially free of the hydrogen sulfide is separated from a spent liquid treatment solution containing elemental sulfur which can then be regenerated in an oxidation vessel where it is contacted with an oxygen containing gas to convert the spent liquid treatment solution to a regenerated liquid treatment solution that can be recycled for introduction into the reverse jet absorber.
PHOTOTROPHIC PURIFICATION OF HYDROGEN SULFIDE CONTAINING STREAMS
The present disclosure relates to processes for desulfurizing hydrocarbon feedstocks. The processes may include introducing a feedstock comprising hydrogen sulfide to an absorber comprising a metal chelate to form a reduced metal chelate. The processes may further include introducing the reduced metal chelate to a photobioreactor comprising a phototrophic bacterium. The present disclosure also relates to apparatuses for desulfurizing hydrocarbon feedstock. An apparatus may include and absorber and a photobioreactor fluidly connected to the absorber. The photobioreactor may be an anaerobic vessel with a light source.
