MINERALIZATION CARTRIDGE AND METHOD FOR THE OPERATION THEREOF
20220177336 · 2022-06-09 ·

The invention relates to a method for operating a water filter cartridge in a pipe, said water filter cartridge having a housing in the form of a pressure vessel, and an inlet and an outlet for water, characterized in that a main flow of water to which minerals are added is conducted through a main pipe inside the pressure vessel, and a dosing flow of concentrated salt solution is conducted through a dosing pipe, wherein the dosing pipe branches off from the main pipe and passes through a reservoir of constant volume and in which there is a concentrated salt solution consisting of sulphate salt, chloride salt and/or hydrogen carbonate salt, wherein the part of the dosing pipe extending from the reservoir leads into the main flow at a dosing point through a dosing opening with a constant flow cross-section, and wherein a resistance section which is situated upstream of the dosing point in the main flow is used to set the flow resistance in the main flow such that a pressure difference results between the main flow and the dosing flow and causes a volumetric flow rate of the dosing flow of salt solution which is substantially proportional to the main flow, through the dosing opening opening into the main flow.

Electronic filter detection feature for liquid filtration systems

A filter monitor system (“FMS”) module is installed on the engine/vehicle and is connected to the filter systems, sensors and devices to monitor various performance parameters. The module also connects to the engine control module (“ECM”) and draws parameters from the ECM. The FMS module is capable of interfacing with various output devices such as a smartphone application, a display monitor, an OEM telematics system or a service technician's tool on a computer. The FMS module consists of hardware and software algorithms which constantly monitor filter systems and provide information to the end-user. FMS module provides necessary inputs and outputs for electronic sensors and devices.

MULTI-FUNCTION POOL SKIMMER WATER TREATMENT METHOD
20230250661 · 2023-08-10 · ·

A water treatment insert for a pool skimmer system includes a chemical treatment portion separated from a mechanical filtration portion. The treatment device includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper section can include a vertical wall or walls, which should be substantially watertight so that substantially all the water entering the pool skimmer flows through the upper portion, and then into the lower section. The entire device is preferably received in the filter basket receiving section of a conventional pool skimmer, in place of the conventional filter basket. One of the upper and lower sections provides mechanical filtration and the other chemical treatment, to enhance the water treatment function of the skimmer.

Reduction of leachable beta-glucan levels from cellulose-containing filter materials

Treatment methods for reduction of (1.fwdarw.3)-β-D-glucan leachables from cellulose-containing filter materials are described.

METHOD OF TREATING WATER CONTAINING ARSENIC AND MANGANESE
20210363037 · 2021-11-25 ·

A method of treating water containing arsenic and manganese. Ozone is injected into the water at a concentration in the range of 0.2 to 1.0 mg/L, oxidizing As(III) to As(V) and Mn(II) to Mn(IV). Ferric chloride coagulant is added to the ozonated water, coagulating the As(V) and the Mn(IV). The water is then filtered with a first filter medium selected for removal of the Mn(IV) followed by a second filter medium selected for removal of As(V). This removes the coagulate to produce treated water. The method removes arsenic and manganese to low levels acceptable for drinking water, using low concentrations of ozone as an oxidant. An advantage is that the ozone system can have a relatively small footprint, and use less energy, an important factor for climate change. Further, a quenching agent for removal of residual ozone is not required.

Filter system

A system for filtering water in a spa that provides safety and greater filtration. The system may include a filter secured to a core. The core may include first and second cages with a plurality of openings allowing water to freely pass through the filter and core while preventing larger objects from passing through. The first cage may provide an orientation feature to position the filter in one direction. The second cage may hold mineral cartridges. The core may be secured to a fitting that is secured to the suction line of a spa via a ratchet like engagement feature. The fitting and core prevent back out of the core unless manually overriding the arm on the core which engages fins on the fitting. The filter may be removed and replaced while the core remains in place providing safety to the user. A cap secures the whole assembly into place.

Filter having tracer material

An oil filter may include a housing. The housing may include an inlet, an outlet, and a filter element. The filter element may be located downstream of the inlet and upstream of the outlet. Additionally, the filter element may include a filtering material and a tracer material.
