White functional additives derived from filtration spent cake containing diatomite
This disclosure concerns flux-calcined products manufactured from filtration waste streams, and methods for manufacturing the same. In particular, it concerns functional additives produced from spent cake comprising diatomite filtration media which are suitable for use in paints, plastic films and elastomers for control of optical and surface properties, and processes which are suitable for manufacture of such products. It further concerns the recovery of energy from spent cakes during the regeneration process.
CONTINUOUS SYNTHESIS OF A TITANOSILICATE ZEOLITIC MATERIAL, SAID ZEOLITIC MATERIAL, MOLDING PREPARED THEREOF, AND THEIR USE
The present invention relates to a specific continuous process for preparing a zeolitic material having a framework structure type selected from the group consisting of MFI, MEL, IMF, SVY, FER, SVR, and intergrowth structures of two or more thereof, preferably an MFI- and/or MEL-type framework structure, comprising Si, Ti, and O, and to a zeolitic material as obtainable and/or obtained according to said process. Further, the present invention relates to a process for preparing a molding, and to a molding obtainable and/or obtained according to said process. Yet further, the present invention relates to a use of said zeolitic material and molding.
ZEOLITIC ADSORBENT FOR THE SEPARATION OF HYDROCARBON ISOMERS
The present invention concerns a zeolitic adsorbent agglomerate comprising at least one zeolite of faujasite type comprising sodium and/or lithium and/or calcium, and/or barium and/or potassium, of porosity between 25% and 45%, and having a standard deviation σ of crystal size distribution in said agglomerate of less than 0.30 μm. The invention also concerns the use of the zeolitic adsorbent agglomerate to separate hydrocarbon mixtures, and the process to separate hydrocarbon mixtures using said zeolitic adsorbent agglomerate.
SODIUM FERRITE PARTICLE POWDER AND PRODUCTION METHOD THEREOF
The sodium ferrite particle powder according to the present invention is characterized in that at least one metal or more selected from the metal group consisting of silicon, aluminum, titanium, manganese, cobalt, nickel, magnesium, copper and zinc is contained in an amount of 0.05 to 20% by weight in terms of the oxide, and the molar ratio of Na/Fe is 0.75 to 1.25.
Activated carbon beads for smoking articles
Smoking article include a smokable material and an activated carbon particle downstream of the smokable material. The activated carbon particle is produced from a whole seed. The activated carbon particle has a length, width and height. At least two of the length width and height are independently in a range from about 1 mm to about 7.5 mm. The particles can be spheroids, in which case the length, width and height would be the same or similar.
MERCURY ADSORBENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Provided is a mercury adsorbent that can efficiently adsorb and remove mercury and/or a mercury compound contained in a liquid hydrocarbon and can suppress corrosive action even when used for a long time. The mercury adsorbent comprises an activated carbon including a mineral acid supported thereon, the activated carbon having a specific surface area of 1000 m.sup.2/g or larger and a volume of micropores of 80 cm.sup.3/g or larger, each of the micropores having a pore radius of 8 Å or smaller, and the mercury adsorbent has a moisture content of from 0.1 to 3 wt %.
REGENERATABLE SYSTEM FOR CONTAMINANT REMOVAL
A system and method for water purification by capture of contaminants in an aqueous mixture is described herein. A system and method for regenerating the capture system is also described. An integrated capture and regeneration system and method is also described including a separation vessel that houses a capture bed and optionally an electrode in electrical contact with the bed with a power source for applying a voltage to the electrode. The applied voltage enhances capture of the contaminant from aqueous liquid on the capture bed and modulation of the applied voltage enhances release of contaminant on the capture bed into aqueous wash liquid to regenerate the bed. The aqueous wash liquid may contain a counter ion that binds to the contaminant forming an aggregate contaminant phase that separates from the aqueous wash liquid.
Powder, method of producing powder and adsorption apparatus
The present invention provides that powder is mainly constituted from secondary particles of hydroxyapatite. The secondary particles are obtained by drying a slurry containing primary particles of hydroxyapatite and aggregates thereof and granulating the primary particles and the aggregates. A bulk density of the powder is 0.65 g/mL or more and a specific surface area of the secondary particles is 70 m.sup.2/g or more. The powder of the present invention has high strength and is capable of exhibiting superior adsorption capability when it is used for an adsorbent an adsorption apparatus has.
COMPOSITIONS, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS FOR CAPTURING CARBON DIOXIDE FROM A GAS STREAM
The present disclosure relates to a solid adsorbent for capturing carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) from a gas stream comprising CO.sub.2, the solid adsorbent comprising an amine covalently bonded to a polymer resin (e.g., a polystyrene resin), wherein the solid adsorbent has a CO.sub.2 uptake capacity of greater than about 7 wt. % at a temperature of about 40° C., and wherein the solid adsorbent has a CO.sub.2 uptake capacity of less than about 1.5 wt. % at a temperature of about 100° C., as measured when the gas stream further comprises a concentration of the CO.sub.2 of about 4 vol. %, by volume of the gas stream.
