Disclosed herein are fluid handling devices that include integrated card and pipette tip devices, for use with multichannel liquid dispensing devices.

The present device is a specimen containment unit comprising; a container, wherein the container has a first portion of a locking mechanism positioned distal to an opening, and a funnel having a base and a plurality of segments attached to the base and a second portion of a locking mechanism integrated into the base, wherein the segments protrude a predetermined distance and angle from the base, wherein the first portion of the locking mechanism is designed to mate with the second portion of the locking mechanism to secure the funnel to the container.

A storage box for plastic pipette tips that has a frame part with two longitudinal walls and two transverse walls that enclose an interior space laterally. The storage box has a support plate arranged on the upper side of the frame part with a large number of bearing openings that plastic pipette tips can be inserted. The storage box also includes a pipette tip contact piece on the underside of the frame part for contacting a plastic pipette tip inserted into one of the bearing openings.

A biological safety cabinet or the like according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a bottom plate 4 provided in a body case 2; and a flexible portion 13 provided to a front shutter protector 6 that is provided to a lower end of the front shutter 5, and is capable of ensure reliability by reducing the load of the front shutter such that outside air is drawn into the body case 2 through a gap 15 formed in a contact portion between the flexible portion 13 and the bottom plate 4.

Method and apparatus for thermal processing of nucleic acid in a thermal profile is provided. The method employs at least a first bath and a second bath, the method further employing a reactor holder for holding reactor(s) accommodating reaction material containing the nucleic acid. The method comprises maintaining bath mediums in the baths at two different temperatures; and alternately allowing the reactor(s) to be in the two baths in a plurality of thermal cycles to alternately attain a predetermined high target temperature THT, and a predetermined low target temperature TLT, wherein the bath medium in at least one of the baths is a high thermal conductivity powder.
