ROTATIONAL UNIT FOR A ROTOR OF A DUAL CENTRIFUGE
The invention relates to a rotational unit (10) for a rotor of a dual centrifuge, said rotational unit having a bearing (14) and a rotational head (24) which is connected to the bearing (14), is mounted therein such that it can rotate about an axis of rotation and can be driven relative to the rotor by an additional rotational mechanism of the centrifuge, the rotational head (24) being detachably connected to the receiving unit (40, 80) for conjoint rotation, which receiving unit comprises a sample container receptacle (60, 70, 100, 110) for at least one sample container. The invention is characterized in that the receiving unit (40, 80) and the rotational head (24) are connected by a frictional connection in which some portions of the receiving unit (40, 80) and the rotational head (24) engage in each other in a wedge-like manner, and the frictional connection increases with a movement of the receiving unit (40, 80) along the axis of rotation of the rotational unit (10) in the direction toward the rotational head (24).

Improvements to Centrifuge Apparatus
Apparatus used to allow separation of one or more components from a liquid supplied to the apparatus and then, following use of the apparatus, the one or more separated components can be used for further purposes. The apparatus includes a rotatable shaft to which is mounted one or more columns which rotate with the shaft and which also rotate about their own axes and through which the liquid passes. The columns are provided with liquid from flying lead assemblies and the invention provides improved connecting means between the columns and flying lead assemblies to allow the same to be modular. An improved cooling system is also disclosed.
CENTRIFUGE
In a cell washing centrifuge for washing living cells such as blood cells, control of the remaining amount of a supernatant according to the related art greatly depends on controlling the rotation speed of a motor, and thus a highly accurate motor control part is required to prevent overshooting or the like. In place of the related art, an easy control method is required. In the discharging of a supernatant discharge by a centrifuge having a plurality of test tube holders that can radially swing through centrifugal force, a holding part using an electromagnet that can control the swinging of the test tube holders, and a cleaning liquid distribution element that supplies a cleaning liquid into a test tube, a first decanting operation ({circle around (3)}-1) is performed by rotating a rotor in the order of acceleration, settling, and deceleration in a state in which the agitating angle of the test tube is restricted and discharging the supernatant of the cleaning liquid from the test tube, and a second decanting operation ({circle around (3)}-2) is performed, at a time of a final decanting operation, by accelerating the rotor, releasing restriction on the agitating angle during the acceleration, and then decelerating the rotor.

ENHANCED CENTRIFUGE FOR CORE SAMPLE ANALYSIS
Disclosed herein are example configurations of centrifuges used for analyzing properties of core samples extracted from sub-surface environments, in which the configuration of the centrifuges and rotations thereof improve fluid distribution within core samples held in the apparatus. In one aspect, a centrifuge includes a rotating arm and a holder coupled to a distal end of the rotating arm, the holder being configured to rotate independently of the rotating arm for analyzing fluid-rock interaction within the holder.
