Nutating sprinkler head
A sprinkler head is disclosed having a fluid distribution cage configured to nutate between an upper sprinkler body plate and a lower sprinkler body plate. The sprinkler head has a projection to cause the fluid distribution cage to hang at a non-horizontal angle prior to initiation of nutation. The projection is configured to move or rotate away from the upper cage plate of the fluid distribution cage during nutation initiation. Preferably the projection is positioned on a gimbal ring that rotates in response to force asserted on the projection by the upper cage plate. Preferably the gimbal ring has two projections positioned on opposing sides of the axis of rotation of the gimbal ring.
SERVICEABLE SPRINKLER WITH NUTATING DISTRIBUTION PLATE AND WEAR SLEEVE
A sprinkler assembly with a nutating distribution plate can improve even distribution of water. The distribution plate can tilt and/or translate upon water impinging the distribution plate to disperse water in different directions. The sprinkler assembly can have a deflector assembly including the distribution plate, a spindle supported by a bearing, and a contact portion downstream of the distribution plate to contact a housing that limits a range of movement of the distribution plate. The sprinkler assembly can be disassembled and reassembled with minimal tools and effort for servicing.
Rotary nozzle sprinkler with orbital diffuser
A rotary nozzle sprinkler includes a base assembly with a bearing, a stem mounted rotatably in the bearing, and an elbow coupled at a proximal end to and rotatable with the stem and including an elbow bend. A nozzle is secured to a distal end of the elbow, and a diffuser assembly including a brake mechanism is cooperable with the elbow. By positioning the nozzle downstream of the elbow, the sprinkler can achieve a greater throw radius.
Rigid mount orbitor sprinkler with spider refuge
A rigid mount orbitor sprinkler assembly incorporates a deflector plate configuration that is configured for both spinning/rotating motion as well as orbital or wobbling motion around the center of a spool assembly. The sprinkler includes a spider ingress opening cooperable with a spider barrier that in combination permit inevitable spider ingress while preventing spider access or contact with certain moving parts of the sprinkler.
Speed controlled nutating sprinkler
A sprinkler head having a nutating fluid distribution cage. The sprinkler head has a first sprinkler body and a second sprinkler body. The first sprinkler body has an upper plate and a lower plate. A distribution cage is configured to hang from the lower plate when fluid is not being sprayed onto the cage. An upper cage plate of the distribution cage is configured to nutate between the upper plate and the lower plate when fluid is sprayed on the cage. The second sprinkler body is positioned below the cage and is connected to the first sprinkler body by one or more arms. The cage has a magnet coupled with a magnet of the second sprinkler body. The magnetic coupling allows the cage to hang at an angle from the lower sprinkler body plate when fluid is not sprayed onto the cage and/or to provide for a speed dampener of the rate of nutation of the cage.
SPRINKLER WITH RADIALLY LIMITED NUTATING SPOOL ASSEMBLY
A sprinkler head having a spool assembly positioned within the lower sprinkler body of the sprinkler head. The spool assembly has a spool body having a distribution disc at an upper end of the spool body. The sprinkler head is configured with a nozzle that sprays fluid onto the distribution disk, causing the spool assembly to nutate within the lower sprinkler body when sprinkler head is running. The spool assembly is configured with two friction bands that are each configured to radially roll in or on a respective race within the lower sprinkler body. The friction bands can be integrally formed with the spool assembly or removably positioned on the spool assembly.
SPRINKLER WEIGHT
A weight for attaching to a sprinkler is disclosed. The weight includes a connector having a passageway for water to flow between a first end and a second end. The first end includes a first coupling. The second end includes an outer surface and an inner surface. The outer surface includes a second coupling and the inner surface includes a third coupling. The connector supports a shell having a chamber. The chamber allows a user to add weight to or subtract weight from the shell. In a first aspect, the weight can be attach in multiple orientations to the same sprinkler. In a second aspect, the weight can be attached to a plurality of sprinklers that have different designs. In either aspect, the weight is considered universal.

Nozzle assembly with rotating nozzle insert
An improved nozzle assembly for use with a sprinkler body. The nozzle assembly has a nozzle body having a recess and defining a fluid flow path through the nozzle assembly. A nozzle insert is positioned in the nozzle body and retained by a keeper tab that is positioned through an opening in a rear wall of the recess. The nozzle insert is rotatable between a series of operational positions including the IN (or insertion) position, the RUN position, the OFF position, the FLUSH position, and the LINE FLUSH position. A biasing plate is positioned on the face of the nozzle body and is configured to detent the turning knob of the nozzle insert in the RUN position. Further provided is a nozzle insert carrier configured to retain additional, not-in-use nozzle inserts with the nozzle assembly.
