CUTTING INSERT, ROTARY TOOL, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MACHINED PRODUCT
A rotary tool according to an aspect includes a body, a flank face positioned at a side of a tip end of the body, a flute extending from the flank face toward a rear end of the body, and a ridge line positioned at an intersection of the flank face and the flute. The ridge line includes a recessed portion recessed toward the rear end of the body, an inner edge extending from the recessed portion toward the tip end of the body, and an outer edge extending from the recessed portion toward an outer periphery of the body. The flute includes a recessed groove extending along the outer edge. The recessed groove is connected to the recessed portion and the outer edge, and is separated from the inner edge.
DRILL
In this drill, a cutting edge, which is formed at an intersecting ridge line part between a wall surface, facing a drill rotation direction, of a chip discharging flute formed at an outer periphery of a tip portion of a drill main body that is rotated around an axis, and a tip flank face, includes an inner peripheral cutting edge located on a radially inner peripheral side with respect to the axis; and an outer peripheral cutting edge connected to a radially outer peripheral side of the inner peripheral cutting edge. A point angle of a portion of the inner peripheral cutting edge on an inner peripheral side with respect to the axis is within a range of 90° to 170°.
DRILL AND METHOD OF PRODUCING DRILLED PRODUCT
According to one implementation, a drill includes the first cutting edges, the second cutting edges and a deflection reducer. The first cutting edges drill a prepared hole to a workpiece. The first cutting edges are formed in a tip side of the drill. The first point angle and each first relief angle of the first cutting edges continuously or intermittently decrease from the tip side toward a rear end side of the drill. The second cutting edges finish the prepared hole. The second cutting edges are formed at positions away in the rear end side from the first cutting edges. The second cutting edges have the second relief angles at a maximum diameter position. The deflection reducer reduces deflection of the second cutting edges. The deflection reducer is formed between the first cutting edges and the second cutting edges. The deflection reducer is inserted into the prepared hole.
DRILLING TOOL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A BOREHOLE
A drilling tool for producing a bore with a cylindrical inner wall can be rotatable in a rotary movement with a predetermined rotational direction (VD) about a tool axis (A) extending through the drilling tool, and at the same time is movable in an axial forward movement (VB) in a forward direction axially to the tool axis. The drilling tool comprises at least one drilling area (3) arranged in a forwardly located region of the drilling tool at a forward or free end, but preferably not having a thread forming region. The drilling area has a number n of drilling edges which are arranged offset to each other in the rotational direction, and at least one chip divider is arranged on at least one or each of the n drill cutting edges, where the chip divider forms an interruption of the respective drill cutting edge.
DEEP-HOLE DRILL AND DRILLING TOOL HAVING ONE OR MORE DEPRESSIONS IN THE CUTTING SURFACE
The invention relates to single-lip drills and double-lip drills, in which one or more depressions are formed in the rake face. The depressions according to the invention are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the tool at a distance from the cutting edge and have a positive influence on chip breaking.
DEEP-HOLE DRILL HAVING A PLURALITY OF CHIP-FORMING DEVICES AND RECESSES IN THE RAKE FACE
The invention relates to a single-lip drill and a double-lip drill having a plurality of chip-forming devices or depressions in the rake face which are arranged in succession and at a distance from one another. As soon as a cutting edge and/or the associated chip-forming device or the associated depression is worn, the deep hole drill according to the invention can be reground using simple means.
DRILLS AND DRILL BITS WITH BUTTRESSED CHIP BREAKERS
Drilling tools and/or drill bits having notches with buttressed regions and/or notches therewithin to improve notch strength. In some embodiments, the drill/drill bit may comprise a shank comprising a cutting face, the cutting face terminating in a cutting edge. A notch may be formed along the cutting edge, which may be configured to separate chips formed by the drilling tool during operation. A buttressed region may be formed within the notch and may terminate along the cutting edge. The buttressed region may expand a size of the notch in one or more dimensions.
Indexable drilling insert having three tip portions and rotary cutting tool having such drilling insert centrally mounted
A drilling insert has a central portion with a central axis, and three circumferentially spaced tip portions. Each tip portion has a first axis and two diverging first cutting edges with radially outermost cutting points defining a first circle lying on a tip plane perpendicular to the first axis and having a first cutting diameter. In a view along one of the first axes, a second circle having a second diameter circumscribes the drilling insert, and the first cutting diameter is at least sixty percent of the second diameter. A cutting tool rotatable about a tool axis with a tool cutting diameter includes the drilling insert, and a second cutting insert having a second cutting edge. One of the tip portions is operative having its first axis coaxial to the tool axis, and the second cutting edge extends radially outward of the first cutting diameter.
DRILL TIP AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DRILL TIP
The invention relates to a drill tip (2), comprising a center (4), at which a chisel edge (6) is arranged, and comprising a main cutting edge (8), which adjoins the chisel edge (6) and runs outward from the center (4). A rake angle is formed along the chisel edge (6) and the main cutting edge (8). The main cutting edge (8) has an inner portion (10), which adjoins the chisel edge (6) and is arranged within the center (4). The main cutting edge (8) has an outer portion (12), which outwardly adjoins the inner portion (10) and is arranged outside of the center (4). A point thinning (16) is formed on the drill tip (2), which point thinning is curved in such a way that the inner portion (10) runs arcuately from an outer edge of the center (4) toward the chisel edge (6). The invention further relates to a method for producing a drill tip (2) of this type.
