DRILLING TOOL
Proposed is a drilling tool for drilling workpieces, having a tool tip and a basic body and a core, wherein the basic body has at least one main groove as at least one helical depression, for the purpose of realizing a conveying helix in each case. For the purpose of prolonging the service life, the core, in a first portion that starts at the tool tip and/or extends to the tool tip, has a constant cross-sectional area perpendicular to the axis of rotation and, in an adjoining second portion, counter to the direction of advance, has a cross-sectional area that increases, at least in portions.
STEP DRILL
A step drill includes a distal end, an opposite proximal end, a drill tip and at least one drill step. The drill tip has a tip at the distal end of the step drill and comprises a first number of geometrically defined cutters, each of which is paired with a first flute and lies on an imaginary first circular line about a longitudinal axis of the step drill. The imaginary first circular line has a first radius. The at least one drill step is arranged at a distance from the distal end and has an end face with a second number of geometrically defined cutters each of which is paired with a second flute and lies on an imaginary second circular line that runs about the longitudinal axis of the step drill and has a second radius. The first radius is smaller than the second radius. The first flutes of the drill tip and the second flutes of the drill step merge in a region, which is arranged at a greater distance from the distal end than the end face of the drill step, and form a single flute.
TAPERED DRILL BIT AND AUTOMATED PROCESS
A tapered drill bit having a proximal end and a distal end includes a shank extending from the distal end at least partially towards the proximal end of the tapered drill bit and a body coupled to the shank. The body includes a tapered portion and the body extends from the shank to the proximal end of the tapered drill bit. The tapered drill bit further includes at least one flute extending from the proximal end along a portion of the body. The tapered drill bit also includes a conduit extending from an inlet aperture at the distal end to an outlet aperture, wherein the outlet aperture is formed through the at least one flute.
Drill and method of manufacturing drilled product
According to one implementation, a drill that drills at least one of a composite material and a metal is provided. A web thickness at least at a tip of the drill is not less than 5% and less than 25% of at least one diameter of the drill. Further, according to one implementation, a method of manufacturing a drilled product is provided. The drilled product is manufactured by drilling a workpiece using the above-mentioned drill. The workpiece is made of the at least one of the composite material and the metal.
Drill and method for manufacturing cut product using same
A drill (1) based on an embodiment of the present invention is equipped with: a first chip discharge flute that is provided on an outer periphery of a drill body and spirally extends around a rotational axis from a first cutting edge toward a rear end of the drill body; a second chip discharge flute that is provided on the outer periphery of the drill body and spirally extends around the rotational axis from a second cutting edge toward the rear end of the drill body; and an auxiliary flute that is provided on the outer periphery of the drill body and extends along the second chip discharge flute on a front side in a rotating direction of the rotational axis, wherein a rear end of the second chip discharge flute extends further toward the rear end of the drill body than the first chip discharge flute.
DRILL
A drill includes a drill main body to be rotated around a shaft center, discharge flutes provided in a helical shape in an outer peripheral surface, a cutting edge formed at a ridge section between an inner face, of the discharge flute, and a flank of the drill main body at a leading end portion, a thinning edge provided at the leading end portion of the drill main body, a thinning face being a rake face of the thinning edge, and connecting the thinning edge with the discharge flute, and a gash portion connected to the thinning face, a ridge line between the gash portion and the flank extending in a circular arc shape from an inner end of the thinning edge, and being connected to the discharge flute. The gash portion is connected to the discharge flute while twisting along a helix angle of the discharge flute.
