A holder in a non-limiting aspect of the present disclosure may include a base having a bar shape extended from a first end to a second end along a central axis, and a first weight having a column shape and a second weight having a column shape. The base may include a cavity extended along a central axis. The first weight may be located in the cavity. The second weight may be located in the cavity and located closer to the second end than the first weight.
TOOL HOLDER HAVING ANTI-VIBRATION ARRANGEMENT AND CUTTING TOOL PROVIDED WITH TOOL HOLDER
An elongated tool holder includes a tool anti-vibration component having a mass housing portion and an anti-vibration arrangement. The anti-vibration arrangement includes an enclosed interior holder cavity formed in the mass housing portion. The anti-vibration arrangement also includes a vibration absorbing mass disposed within the holder cavity and elastically suspended therein by at least three non-torus shaped, resilient suspension members contacting an inwardly facing cavity wall surface. A cutting tool is provided with the tool holder.
DEVICE FOR SECURING A BORING BAR
A fixing device for fixing a boring bar on a material-removing machine includes a reducing sleeve with a hollow profile arranged on a front face which faces away from a machine chuck. The boring bar is received in the interior of the hollow profile. An end region of the boring bar projects from the hollow profile and carries a cutting tool. The hollow profile has a wall arranged between a hallow profile interior and a hollow profile outer wall. The wall has a lateral region where the cutting tool projects from the boring bar, a first thickness in the lateral region, and a second thickness outside the lateral region. The first thickness is less than the second thickness. A longitudinal axis of the hollow profile is parallel to and at a distance from the axis of the reducing sleeve which is coaxial with the interior of the boring bar.
CUTTING TOOL ASSEMBLY WITH ADJUSTABLE DAMPERS
A boring bar has a generally cylindrical elongate tool body has a proximal end for mounting to drive unit and a distal end for attachment to a tool head. A passageway extends longitudinally along the central axis of the elongate tool body. A plurality of longitudinally extending cavities are disposed annularly about the tool body. A compressive material is disposed in each of the cavities. An adjustable compression fitting is disposed in at least one end of each of the cavities, where each of the compression fitting can be adjusted to change compression of the material disposed in a respective cavity.
TOOL BODY INCLUDING A DAMPING APPARATUS AND A MACHINING TOOL HAVING SUCH A TOOL BODY
A tool body includes a damping apparatus having a damper mass body with an axial through bore and a central tube received in the through bore and surrounded by a cavity. An elastic element is arranged on each side of the damper mass body and provided with two socket-like portions extending axially through a central hole of two disc-like members clamping the elastic element therebetween. The socket-like portions project in a rest state of the elastic element extend axially beyond the respective axially directed side of the respective disc-like member and are in an assembled state of the tool body compressed for sealing the cavity with respect to the exterior.
BORING BAR AND A NON-ROTATING BORING TOOL AND A BORING ARRANGEMENT COMPRISING SUCH A BORING BAR
A boring bar for a non-rotating boring tool includes an elongated main part configured for attachment to a support structure of a metal cutting machine. A front part is arranged to carry a tool part provided with a cutting element and at least one damping module, which is arranged between a front end of the main part and a rear end of the front part and which is provided with an electrically controlled vibration actuator configured to generate vibratory forces for active vibration damping of the boring bar. The front part is connected to the main part via the at least one damping module, wherein the main part, the front part and the at least one damping module together form an elongated body, and wherein the at least one damping module constitutes a length section of the elongated body.
Tool holder having anti-vibration arrangement and coolant channel, and cutting tool provided with tool holder
An elongated tool holder includes a mass housing portion having a housing peripheral surface, an outer sleeve having a sleeve hole wall surface, and an anti-vibration arrangement. An elongated groove is formed in one of the housing peripheral surface and the sleeve hole wall surface. In an assembled state of the tool holder, the groove, which is located at a common interface of the housing peripheral surface and the sleeve hole wall surface, forms a groove coolant channel. The groove coolant channel forms part of an overall tool holder coolant channel which is spaced apart from the anti-vibration arrangement, and thus isolates the coolant from the anti-vibration arrangement. A cutting tool incorporates the tool holder.
Device for securing a boring bar
A fixing device for fixing a boring bar on a material-removing machine includes a reducing sleeve with a hollow profile arranged on a front face which faces away from a machine chuck. The boring bar is received in an interior of the hollow profile. An end region of the boring bar projects from the hollow profile and carries a cutting tool. The hollow profile has a wall arranged between the interior and an exterior of the hollow profile. The wall has a first thickness and a second thickness. The first thickness is less than the second thickness. The first thickness is established at a side of the fixing device where the cutting tool projects radially from the boring bar. A longitudinal axis of the hollow profile is parallel to and at a distance from the axis of the reducing sleeve which is coaxial with the interior of the boring bar.
Blade, tool and method of grooving a metallic workpiece
A grooving blade for chip removing machining includes a cutting insert pocket and a damping arrangement fixed to the blade. The damping arrangement projects laterally with respect to at least one major surface of the blade. A grooving tool and a method of grooving a metallic workpiece are also disclosed.
External turning tool having a cutting portion with a transverse elongated damping mechanism
An external turning tool includes an elongated tool body with opposite clamping and cutting portions which define an axial direction therebetween. The cutting portion includes a damping mechanism with an elongated damping member which defines an elongation axis. The elongation axis forms a non-zero damping member angle with the axial direction.
