Wedge clamp and insert cartridge for cutting tool
A cutting tool includes a pocket with a top wall, a bottom wall, a side wall and a rear wall. The cutting tool has an insert cartridge and a wedge clamp. The threaded member exerts a force vector in a radial direction when threaded into the wedge clamp to place the cutting tool in a locked condition, and the wedge clamp exerts a force vector into the body of the cutting tool radially inward of an adjacent pocket, thereby reducing deflection of the adjacent pocket when the cutting tool is placed in the locked condition.
CUTTING TOOL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CUT WORKPIECE
In an embodiment, a cutting tool includes a holder and a cutting insert. The holder is elongated and includes an insert pocket that is located on a side of a first end. The cutting insert is secured to the insert pocket. The cutting tool further includes a clamp that fastens the cutting insert in the insert pocket, and a screw that comes in contact with the cutting insert and is secured to the insert pocket. The screw includes a first surface including a first engagement portion on a first surface that is located on a side of the first end. The first engagement portion is located within a through-hole included in the screw in a front view of the first end.
CUTTER HEAD AND CUTTER HEAD SYSTEM
A cutter head for a woodworking machine, having a cylindrical, conical, or profiled base body which comprises at least two tool holders for holding a cutting insert. The tool holders each comprise a groove which is open in the radial direction, in which a cutting insert is clamped between a first groove wall of the groove and a one- or two-piece clamping element. The cutter head of can include a support plate arranged between the cutting insert and the first groove wall. The clamping screws are arranged at right angles to the axis and are thus accessible for a cutter change. The screw holder on the clamping element is a ball socket, and the front end of the screw is a round head. The cutter head of has a spring element, which positions the cutting insert during the clamping process, and presses the same via the functional surface radially outward against a stop.
SECTIONAL HOB
This sectional hob is provided with: a cylindrical hob body; a plate-shaped blade having a saw-toothed cutting edge, the blade being disposed in at least one attachment seat formed in an outer peripheral part of the hob body such that a direction of the cutting edge is parallel to a center axis direction of the hob body; and a plurality of wedge members configured to detachably-fix the blade disposed in the attachment seat to the hob body, the wedge members being installed in a recess formed on the outer peripheral part of the hob body, wherein the recess is adjacent to the attachment seat in a circumferential direction of the hob body, and the plurality of the wedge members are disposed in a line in the center axis direction in the recess.
CUTTING INSERT AND FACE MILLING CUTTER
A cutting insert comprising a cutting edge formed by an intersection ridge between a rake face and a side face, the cutting edge including a major cutting edge, a flat cutting edge, and a chamfer edge disposed between the major cutting edge and the flat cutting edge, wherein in a direct view of a side face near the flat cutting edge, a ratio of installation area length L2 of the chamfer edge to installation area length L3 of the major cutting edge is L2:L3=2:8 to 5:5, and inclination angle .sub.1 of the chamfer edge with respect to the flat cutting edge and inclination angle .sub.2 of the major cutting edge with respect to the flat cutting edge are set to have a relationship of .sub.1<.sub.2.
Cutting tool having an anti-slip arrangement
A cutting tool and a cutting insert, each of which including a base surface and an anti-slip arrangement adjacent thereto. Each anti-slip arrangement includes an actuator surface and non-parallel first and second abutment surfaces, and the actuator surface of the cutting tool is a surface of a clamp of the cutting tool. The cutting insert is mounted on the cutting tool via engagement of the base surfaces thereof and the clamp is operable to bias the actuator surfaces against each other and thereby force the first and second abutment surfaces against each other, for preventing slippage of the cutting insert along the tool's base surface.
