METHOD FOR PRODUCING A TURBINE ENGINE PART
The production method comprises the steps for producing a preform by selective melting, the preform comprising an assembly surface to be brazed to the part to be repaired and containing a brazing material, and then assembling the preform to the turbine engine part by diffusion brazing. The thermal amplitude of the main transformation peak (A1) of the brazing material used to make the preform must at least be twice that of each of the respective thermal amplitudes of the secondary transformation peaks (A2, A3) of this brazing material.
MANUFACTURE OF A DRUM FOR A GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A method for the manufacture of a blisk drum is described. Disc forging for inertia welding together are provided with sacrificial material whose shape and position is selectively provided such that, on completion of the inertia welding process, integral blades can be fashioned from the sacrificial material. Other components such as buckets and balancing lands may also be provided from the sacrificial material.
Process for laser-assisted tool build and repair
A tool for forming a shaped product has a support body that is fabricated from a first material, such as for instance cast iron. The first material defines a first portion of a forming surface of the tool and has a feature supported thereon. The feature has a layer of a second material that is supported on the first material of the support body, a layer of a third material that is supported on the layer of the second material and a layer of a fourth material that is supported on the layer of the third material. The layer of the fourth material, such as for instance a tool steel alloy, defines a second portion of the forming surface of the tool. During use the first portion of the forming surface and the second portion of the forming surface cooperate to form a desired shape of the shaped product.
COMPONENT HAVING WEAR-PROTECTED OPENINGS AND RECESSES AND PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
The present invention relates to a method for producing and/or repairing wear-stressed recesses or openings on components (22) of a turbomachine, especially of elements of a flow passage boundary, and also to corresponding components, wherein the method comprises:
producing an at least two-layer molded repair part (15), one layer (2) of which is formed by an Ni-solder and a further layer (3) of which is formed from a mixture of an Ni-solder (4) and hard material particles (5) of hard alloys on a base of cobalt or nickel and which at least partially has an outer shape which is complementary to the inner shape of the recess (20) or opening which is to be repaired,
inserting the molded repair part (15) into the recess (20) or opening and
at least partially heat-treating the component (22) for soldering the molded repair part (15) onto the component.
METHOD FOR BRAZING AND USE OF A BRAZING FOIL FOR INDUCTION BRAZING
A method for brazing is provided, in which an amorphous or partially amorphous brazing foil, having a composition with a metalloid content of 10 to 30 at. %, is arranged at a joining point of two or more parts. The brazing foil is in the form of a wound ring-shaped strip which has a short-circuited current path between at least two layers lying one on top of the other. The brazing foil inductively heated, melted and a brazed connection of the parts is produced.
BRAZE COMPOSITION, BRAZING PROCESS, AND BRAZED ARTICLE
A braze composition, brazing process, and brazed article are disclosed. The braze composition includes a MCrAlY alloy at a concentration, by weight, of between 50% and 70%, where M is selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, iron, alloys thereof, and combinations thereof, and a nickel-based alloy at a concentration, by weight, of between 30% and 50%. The brazing process includes forming a braze paste, brazing the braze paste to a portion of a component, and shaping the braze paste to form a brazed article. The brazed article includes a component and a braze composition brazed to the component, the braze composition including a MCrAlY alloy at a concentration, by weight, of between 50% and 70%, where M is selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, iron, alloys thereof, and combinations thereof, and a nickel-based alloy at a concentration, by weight, of between 30% and 50%.
Earth-boring tools having particle-matrix composite bodies and methods for welding particle-matrix composite bodies
Methods for welding a particle-matrix composite body to another body and repairing particle-matrix composite bodies are disclosed. Additionally, earth-boring tools having a joint that includes an overlapping root portion and a weld groove having a face portion with a first bevel portion and a second bevel portion are disclosed. In some embodiments, a particle-matrix bit body of an earth-boring tool may be repaired by removing a damaged portion, heating the particle-matrix composite bit body, and forming a built-up metallic structure thereon. In other embodiments, a particle-matrix composite body may be welded to a metallic body by forming a joint, heating the particle-matrix composite body, melting a metallic filler material forming a weld bead and cooling the welded particle-matrix composite body, metallic filler material and metallic body at a controlled rate.
Repair of through-hole damage using braze sintered preform
