MANUAL BLADE SHARPENING TOOL
In at least one embodiment, the present invention discloses a manual blade sharpening tool having a longitudinally extending at least partial channel defined by a longitudinally extending first channel wall, a cutter pocket and a distal planar guide surface located in the longitudinally extending first channel wall, and a longitudinally extending cutter having a longitudinally extending first cutter wall, a longitudinally extending second cutter wall and a transverse cutter surface, the transverse cutter received in the cutter pocket such that one of the longitudinally extending first cutter wall and the longitudinally extending second cutter wall abuts the cutter pocket.
SKATE BLADE SHARPENER WITH INDEXING STONE
A handheld skate blade sharpening tool that has an automatically indexing, rotating sharpening stone that matches the concaved profile of the skate blade retained within a two-piece body member. Screws hold the two-piece body member together to keep the round sharpening stone sized to match the desired concave profile. The sharpening stone will remove metal to match the shape of the stone each time the sharpener is moved back and forth along the blade. The sharpening stone has gears on each end of the stone that match the gears inside the two-piece body. As the tool is moved along the skate blade, the sharpening stone will incrementally rotate within the body when the direction is changed in the reciprocating motion by the user's back and for movement.
AUTOMATIC BLADE HOLDER
The method is for profiling blades with a belt grinding profiling machine. The blades are mounted into a vise. A vertical position of the template is adjusted by rotating the rotatable knob. The motor is turned on to rotate the grinding belt over the grinding wheel. The guide wheel engages the underside profile of the template. The guide wheel of the template guides movement of the grinding wheel mounted on the common axle by moving the guide wheel along the underside profile of the template. The grinding belt grinds material off the underside of the blade until a portion of the underside profile of the template is copied to the underside of the blade.
Skate blade sharpener with indexing stone

Screws hold the two-piece body member together to keep the round sharpening stone sized to match the desired concave profile. The sharpening stone will remove metal to match the shape of the stone each time the sharpener is moved back and forth along the blade. As the tool is moved along the skate blade, the sharpening stone will incrementally rotate within the body when the direction is changed in the reciprocating motion by the user's back and forth movement.
Skate blade holder tool
A blade holder tool is disclosed for a user to hold a skate blade and insert the skate blade into a sharpener unit for a sharpening operation. The blade holder tool includes an upper portion graspable by a user to hold the blade holder tool and place the blade holder tool in an inserted position in the sharpener unit. It further includes a lower blade-engaging portion that grasps the skate blade and locates the skate blade in a sharpening position in the sharpener unit.

Shaping apparatus for finishing surfaces
Described is an apparatus for finishing metallic and non-metallic surfaces by abrasion techniques. Described is an apparatus configured for finishing a zone on the surface of a bladed article of manufacture, wherein the apparatus comprises one or more channels having a cross-sectional profile including at least one finishing area to finish an operative zone of the article that optimizes a clearance portion of the article, wherein an angle of each finishing area of the cross-sectional profile is substantively the same as an optimal clearance angle of the article, wherein the apparatus is configured to position the operable zone of the article along the angle of the finishing area during sharpening.
POLISHING APPARATUS
The invention relates to apparatus for polishing a running base that comprises a blade with two opposing blade edges separated one from the other by an intermediate section; the polishing apparatus comprising: a support body, and blade alignment guide means; wherein the support body is capable of carrying a polishing surface which comprises: a profile which is adapted to conform with one or more portions of the intermediate section; and wherein the blade alignment guide means comprise one or more pairs of first and second blade alignment guides, which first and second blade alignment guides in each pair are separated from each other by the polishing surface, and further wherein the blade alignment guide means is adapted to receive and/or guide and/or constrain a running base so that when the intermediate section between the two edges of the running base is brought into contact with the polishing surface, there is no contact between the polishing surface and any part of the two opposing blade edges of the running base.
