Method and device for granulating plastics and/or polymers

A method and apparatus for the pelletization of plastics and/or polymers, in which a melt coming from a melt generator is supplied via a diverter valve having different operating positions to a plurality of pelletizing heads through which the melt is pelletized. The plurality of pelletizing heads have different throughput capacities and are used sequentially for the start-up of the pelletizing process, with the melt first being supplied to a first pelletizing head having a smaller throughput capacity and then the melt volume flow being increased and the diverter valve being switched over such that the melt is diverted by the diverter valve to a second pelletizing head having a larger throughput capacity.

Method and apparatus for handling a product
09822881 · 2017-11-21 · ·

A method for handling a product, in particular a viscous, pasty product, with at least one rotating shaft (3, 11) in a product space (5), a driving spindle (11) of the shaft (3) is mounted and sealed outside the product space (5) in a housing consisting of a plurality of parts (7, 8, 12). The sealing is brought about by at least two seals (2, 4), wherein a dynamic seal (2) follows an eccentric movement of the shaft (3) and takes on dynamic sealing of the rotating shaft (3), while another seal (4) compensates for an eccentric movement of the shaft (3) in relation to the housing by plastic or elastic deformation and therefore prevents a leakage between the housing part (12), which moves eccentrically, and a rigid housing (10). A defined quantity of liquid, which serves as a blocking agent and lubricant for the dynamic seal (2) of the shaft (3) towards the housing part (7), is metered in here, the liquid, apart from a residual excess, being drawn into the dynamic seal (2) by a pressure difference therewithin and thereby forming an effective block and seal.

Method for recycling plastic materials

The invention relates to a method and to an assembly for recycling plastic materials, comprising the following processing steps: a) reprocessing the raw material, wherein the material, if necessary, is comminuted and brought into a fluid-like form and heated and permanently mixed, while preserving the lumpiness and pourability thereof, and optionally the viscosity thereof is increased and/or it is degassed, softened, dried and/or crystallized; b) melting the reprocessed material, at least so much that filtration is possible; c) filtering the melt in order to remove impurities; d) homogenizing the filtered melt; e) degassing the homogenized melt; and f) discharging and/or subsequently processing the melt, such as by granulation, blown film processing, with said processing steps being carried out consecutively in the order listed.

Continuous manufacturing process for rubber masterbatch and rubber masterbatch prepared therefrom

Disclosed are a continuous manufacturing process for a rubber masterbatch and a rubber masterbatch prepared therefrom. The manufacturing process comprises: 1): a filler is added to a rubber solution, forming a rubber/filler/solvent mixture by stirring; 2): the rubber/filler/solvent mixture obtained in step 1) is fed into a coagulator, and is coagulated after optionally being brought into contact and mixed with one or more fluids of nitrogen, steam, water, aqueous slurry of filler, and oil in the coagulator, resulting in a mixture of a rubber/filler composite and a solvent; 3): the mixture obtained in step 2) is directly passed into a heating medium at a temperature higher than the boiling point of the solvent, the polarity of the medium being different from that of the solvent used, the mixture is coagulated and deswelled, and the solvent is evaporated rapidly, thereby forming a mixture of a rubber/filler composite and the solvent containing the heating medium; and 4): the solvent is removed and the remaining mixture is dried, resulting in a rubber/filler masterbatch.

OUTPUT MECHANISM OF A MIXER WITH CONVERGING CONICAL TWIN SCREWS

A mixing and extrusion machine (10) for the manufacture of rubber mixtures includes a mixer with a converging conical twin-screw (12) with a fixed frame (14) that supports sleeves (16). Two screws (18), being mounted at an angle, are mounted in the mixer (12) in such a way as to move in translational movement between an opening (22) arranged upstream and an outlet (25) arranged downstream of the sleeves. The screws are mounted in the sleeves with removable doors including sliding shutters (40) installed relative to the outlet (25). The sliding shutters move linearly between a closed position, in which the sliding shutters prevent the mixer from discharging the mixture, and an open position, in which the sliding shutters prevent discharge of the mixture through the sides of two counter-rotating rollers (32) of a roller nose type system located just downstream of the outlet.
