A spray gun for a plural component system is provided. The spray gun includes a first component delivery line and a second component delivery line. The spray gun also includes a nozzle, configured to receive and mix a first component received from the first component delivery line with a second component received from the second component delivery line. The spray gun also includes an air purge system configured to, when the spray gun is in a non-actuated position, purge the nozzle of the first and second components and, when the spray gun is in an actuated position, aid in atomization of the mixture of the first and second components.

The component materials mix within a mix bore (52) of the mixer to form a plural component material that is emitted as a spray from an orifice (54) formed in the mixer.

The foam dispensing apparatus includes a resin line and an isocyanate line connected to a manifold. A nozzle is connected to the manifold and the mixture is dispensed through the nozzle. The manifold defines a resin duct in communication with the resin line and the nozzle and an isocyanate duct in communication with the isocyanate line and the nozzle. At least one valve is connected to the resin and isocyanate lines and is moveable between an open position allowing flow through the resin and isocyanate lines and a closed position preventing flow through the resin and isocyanate lines. The valve is disposed exterior to the manifold and the flow is unregulated in the manifold for reducing maintenance of the manifold.

Plural component spray gun for fast setting materials

A plural component spray gun (1) is designed for spraying quick setting materials such as foams, polyurea and the like. Towards this end, the gun (1) is designed so as to be easily serviceable with a minimum of tools. For example, the side seal cartridges (18) and (20) may be installed and removed without tools by removing the retaining ring (9) and then extracting them from the fluid housing (11). Those cartridges (18) and (20) are easily disassembled and cleaned. Similarly, the fluid housing (11) may be removed from the handle/body (1) by unscrewing the lock ring (7) by hand.
