Extrusion with preferential bend axis
A catheter is made by coextruding first and second molten polymers, wherein the second molten polymer forms a flexible inner core and the first molten polymer forms exactly two bands on opposite sides of the inner core. The inner core is braided, and a third molten polymer extruded onto the braid to form a flexible jacket that encloses the braid, the bands and the inner core. The bands are more rigid than the inner core, and they provide preferential in-plane bending.
MULTI-CORE INDUCTION EXTRUDER
Aspects of the disclosure relate to a method for creating a solidified material using a machine tool. In some aspects, the machine tool supplies a current to an induction coil such that the induction coil generates a magnetic field. The machine tool changes the magnetic field to induce eddy currents in a first conductor surrounding a feedstock and a second conductor surrounded by the feedstock. The machine tool uses the eddy currents to cause the feedstock to transition from a solid state to a uniform malleable state regardless of the feedstock’s electrical conductivity.

Silk Performance Apparel and Products and Methods of Preparing the Same
Silk infused performance apparel and methods of preparing the same are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, silk performance apparel includes textiles, fabrics, consumer products, leather, and other materials that are coated with aqueous solutions of pure silk fibroin based protein fragments. In some embodiments, coated apparel products, textiles, and upholstery, as well as other materials, exhibit surprisingly improved moisture management properties, resistance to microbial growth, increased abrasion resistance, and flame resistance.
FASTENABLE MEMBER FOR SEALING, BAFFLING OR REINFORCING AND METHOD OF FORMING SAME
There is disclosed a member for sealing, baffling and/or reinforcing components of an automotive vehicle. The assembly generally includes a carrier, an expandable material and at least one fastener.
EXTRUDER FOR METAL MATERIAL AND 3D PRINTER USING THE SAME
An extruder for a metal material includes a cylinder having a receiving space in which a solid metal material is provided, a nozzle extending from a lower end of the cylinder, an upper coil provided on an outer surface of the cylinder and melting the solid metal material to form a liquid metal material, and a first lower coil provided on an outer surface of the nozzle to control an extruded shape of the liquid metal material.
POLYMERIC PANE WITH EXTRUDED-ON SEALING PROFILE
A polymeric pane, having a polymeric main body with a first pane surface, a second pane surface, a peripheral pane edge, and a protective coating on the entire second pane surface and on at least part of the first pane surface. An extruded-on sealing profile is mounted on the side of the first pane surface via an adhesion promoter.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ELONGATED BODY
An extrusion molding process including a first tape adhering process, in which a first tape is guided to a surface of a first seal lip of an outer belt molding, which is in a heated state in a die, by a tape guide passage formed in the die of an extrusion molding machine and the first tape is adhered to the first seal lip, and a second tape adhering process, in which a second tape is guided to a surface of a second seal lip of the outer belt molding, which is in a heated state immediately after coming out from the die, by a tape guiding jig arranged adjacent to a downstream side end surface of the die of the extrusion molding machine and the second tape is adhered to the second seal lip, are performed.
ENERGY CABLE HAVING A COLD-STRIPPABLE SEMICONDUCTIVE LAYER
Energy cable comprising, from the interior to the exterior, an electrical conductor, an inner semiconductive layer, an electrically insulating layer made from a thermoplastic material in admixture with a dielectric fluid, and an outer semiconductive layer, wherein the outer semiconductive layer comprises: (i) from 55 wt % to 90 wt % of a copolymer of ethylene with at least one ester comonomer having an ethylenic unsaturation; (ii) from 10 wt % to 45 wt % of a propylene copolymer with at least one olefin comonomer selected from ethylene and an α-olefin other than propylene, said copolymer having a melting point of from 145° C. to 170° C. and a melting enthalpy of from 40 J/g to 80 J/g; (iii) at least one conductive filler; (iv) at least one dielectric fluid; the amounts of (i) and (ii) being expressed with respect to the total weight of the polymeric components of the layer. The outer semiconductive layer is cold-strippable, having an adhesion with the underlying thermoplastic insulating layer which can be tuned so as to obtain a suitable balance between strippability at a temperature ranging from about 0° C. to about 40° C., without applying heat, and stable adhesion with the insulating layer during the cable lifespan.
Longitudinal bead molding
An edge-beaded fastener product such as a cushion cover tie-down has a molded profile bead secured to and extending along a flexible strip adjacent a longitudinal edge of the strip. The profile bead has a shoulder or an inboard sidewall extending away from the strip, such as for retaining a clip or hog ring. The flexible strip may have a reinforced region, inboard of the shoulder, in which resin contiguous with resin forming the profile bead encapsulates surface features of the strip. The product is made by molding resin directly onto the strip. Multiple lanes of resin may be molded on a single substrate, which is severed to form individual strips with severed, exposed strip edges.
