Each cell includes an arrangement of thin annular disks, including at least a first cap disk, a first distribution disk, a first transition disk and a first spreader disk. The modular disk coextrusion die includes at least one channel disk having at least one inlet opening and at least two outlet openings per inlet opening. The thin annular disks are configured so that a first of the outlet openings of the channel disk is in fluid communication with the first distribution disk in the first cell and a second of the outlet openings in the channel disk is in fluid communication with the first distribution disk in the second cell. The channel disk provides for a more efficient utilization of space at the inlet of the modular disk coextrusion die and enables the feeding of up to twenty melt streams.

Peroxide treated metallocene-based polyolefins with improved melt strength

Disclosed herein are ethylene-based polymers having low densities and narrow molecular weight distributions, but high melt strengths for blown film processing. Such polymers can be produced by peroxide-treating a metallocene-catalyzed resin.

SEALING DEVICE
20220355528 · 2022-11-10 ·

A sealing device for sealing off the intermediate space between a housing and a shaft which is mounted rotatably in the housing, which housing has a first plate-like body with a front side, a rear side and a first opening extending from the front side to the rear side and suitable for the leadthrough of the shaft, and has a line which runs in the body and which is suitable for conducting a liquid or gaseous medium. Here, the first body is suitable for being fastened sealingly to the housing such that the shaft which is rotatably mounted in the housing is led through the first opening. The line has a multiplicity of outlets which are connected to an inlet via at least one diversion and/or at least one divergence and which lead radially symmetrically into the first opening. The first opening is suitable for the introduction of first sealing such that the first sealing seals off an intermediate space between the shaft and the first body without blocking the outlets of the line.

APPARATUS FOR DISPENSING A COMPOSITION

Provided are an apparatus and methods for dispensing a composition, the apparatus includes a barrel (120) having an inlet (128) and an outlet (129), a screw (122) received in the barrel, and a drive mechanism operatively coupled to a shank end (134) of the screw to rotate the screw. The screw is hollow and includes both interior and exterior surfaces, the interior surfaces defining a cavity (142) adjacent to the outlet, and wherein the screw further includes a plurality of apertures (140) through which the cavity and exterior surfaces communicate with each other. The apertures are located along a perforated portion (146) of the cavity, where the perforated portion can have a transverse dimension that increases with distance from the shank end. The apertures can also provide a hole area, relative to the exterior surface of the screw, that increases with distance from the shank end. The screw can also include a helical flight (132) having a raised flight section (150) and one or more lowered flight sections (152), where the apertures are at least partially located on the lowered flight section.

A method for producing a nitrile rubber, includes recovering a nitrile rubber from a latex of nitrile rubber by continuously feeding the latex of nitrile rubber and a coagulant into an extruder including a screw disposed inside a barrel to be rotatably driven, wherein the latex of nitrile rubber fed into the extruder contains 0.1 to 3 parts by weight of a hindered phenol-based antiaging agent having a molecular weight of 300 to 3000 relative to 100 parts by weight of the nitrile rubber.

Manufacturing method and manufacturing device for foam molded article
11478969 · 2022-10-25 · ·

A method for producing a foam-molded product uses a producing apparatus including a plasticizing cylinder. The plasticizing cylinder has a plasticization zone, a starvation zone, and an introducing port which is formed in the plasticizing cylinder and via which a physical foaming agent is introduced into the starvation zone. The method includes: plasticizing and melting a thermoplastic resin into a molten resin in the plasticization zone; introducing a pressurized fluid containing the physical foaming agent having a fixed pressure into the starvation zone; allowing the molten resin to be in the starved state in the starvation zone; bringing the molten resin in the starved state into contact with the pressurized fluid having the fixed pressure in the starvation zone; and molding the molten resin into the foam-molded product. At least one pressure boosting part is provided in the starvation zone.

Device and method for the extrusion of thermo-mechanically deformable materials in bulk form, and compact screw extruder

Method and device for the extrusion of thermomechanically deformable materials, as well as a compact screw extruder. The configuration of the material infeed in a screw extruder, has a significantly smaller length-diameter ratio than known solutions from the fields of injection moulding and additive manufacturing and a crushing tool, located in the funnel-shaped infeed region of the vertically arranged screw extruder which prevents the rotational movement of the material in the funnel, and also thereby forces movement in the conveying direction of the screw extruder in combination with the gradient of the screw flanks. In addition, a portion of the coarse material is crushed, whereby the bulk material density is increased in the region of the screw and less air must be pressed out of the material in the region of the plasticization and homogenization zone.
