Counterbalanced servo end seal carriages
A sealing machine having a movable carriage assembly which utilizes a counterbalance and two servo motors is disclosed. The counterbalance allows high throughput operation without excessive mechanical vibration. The use of two servo motors allows independent control of the horizontal movement of the movable carriage assembly and the vertical movement of the jaws. The use of two servo motors also allows adaptation to articles or packages of various dimensions. In some embodiments, an optical sensor is used to detect the position of the package to be sealed, and the movement of the movable carriage assembly and the jaw is altered based on the detected position.
Rotary device for welding a continuous web
A rotary device for welding a continuous web includes a rotary element, support elements for supporting the web, supported by the rotary element, and a plurality of welding units for welding the web. Each welding unit passes from a non-operating position to an operating position and vice versa, and includes a first movement device for commanding a relative rotation of an anvil element relative to a welding tip and a second movement device for moving the anvil element relative to the welding tip such that a contact surface of the anvil element and a contact surface of the welding tip make contact with a portion of the web in a zone between them, and vice versa. First and second drive mechanisms drive the first and second movement devices. The first and second drive mechanisms are configured to vary a positioning of the welding tip relative to the axis.
HEAT SEALING APPARATUS
A heat sealing apparatus includes: a first sealing unit and a second sealing unit which are provided to be capable of being opened and closed and perform a heat sealing process of a bag while nipping the bag in a state where the first sealing unit and the second sealing unit are arranged in a closed position with the bag positioned between the first sealing unit and the second sealing unit; and a heat shield member including a heat reflector which is provided to cover at least a part of the first sealing unit and the second sealing unit arranged in the closed position, at a position away from the first sealing unit and the second sealing unit.
BAG SEALING APPARATUS AND BAG SEALING METHOD
A vibration measurement device measures vibration of at least one of the first sealing member and the second sealing member. A determination device determines quality of the sealing process according to a measurement result of the vibration measurement device from before the first sealing member and the second sealing member reach the closed position to after the first sealing member and the second sealing member reach the closed position. The sealing drive unit causes relative movement between the first sealing member and the second sealing member from an open position at a moving speed determined according to a type of the bag, to place the first sealing member and the second sealing member in the closed position.

A bag-making and packaging machine includes sealing jaws, a horizontal moving device, a vertical moving device, and a control unit. The sealing jaws perform a transverse sealing operation. The vertical moving device moves the sealing jaws in a vertical direction. The vertical moving device includes a rotating shaft, a motor, and a link mechanism. The link mechanism transmits rotational force of the rotating shaft to the sealing jaws. The control unit performs first control or second control. The first control forwardly rotates and reversely rotates the rotating shaft during a period of time from a start of the transverse sealing operation to a start of a subsequent transverse sealing operation. The second control performs one of the transverse sealing operation and the subsequent transverse sealing operation with a forward rotation of the rotating shaft and the other with a reverse rotation of the rotating shaft.

A bag-making and packaging machine includes sealing jaws, a horizontal moving device, a vertical moving device, and a control unit. The sealing jaws perform a transverse sealing operation. Vertical flow-wrapper that includes a frame, a web feed, which feeds a web to a form-shoulder, and a form-fill tube, which forms the web into a web tube, a longitudinal sealing-means to seal longitudinal edges of the web tube together, and a cross sealing means to provide a cross-seal to the web tube. The cross sealing means includes seal jaws, a closing motor, and a jaw closing mechanism; the seal jaws and the jaw closing mechanism reciprocate between an upper and lower vertical position; the closing motor is provided at the frame and a torque transfer means is provided between the closing motor and the jaw closing mechanism; the closing motor and the reciprocation motor are operated independently from each other; and the closing motor is connected to the frame by a slide bearing or is pivotably connected to the frame.
