POLYMER PRESSURE VESSEL END-CAP AND LINER-LESS PRESSURE VESSEL DESIGN
An end-cap arrangement for a polymer pressure vessel comprises an end-cap, a filler element for being provided in the vicinity of the end part of the polymer pressure vessel, and a polymer outer ring. The end-cap comprises a polymer end-cap part and a polymer inner ring part being integrally connected to the polymer end cap part. The end-cap is provided for inserting into an end part of the polymer pressure vessel such that the polymer end-cap part seals the end part of the polymer pressure vessel. The polymer inner ring part and the polymer outer ring are arranged for providing radial compression of the filler element.
Method of making a brush and brush
A method of making a brush includes providing a plurality of first filaments, each having a first end and a second end; bringing the plurality of first filaments into a first predetermined shape such that the first ends are arranged side by side on a common contour; fixedly connecting the first ends so that a first pre-tuft having the first predetermined shape and a connected first end is formed; bringing a second tuft element having a first end and a second end together with the first pre-tuft into a second predetermined shape such that the first end of the second tuft element and the connected first end of the first pre-tuft are arranged side by side on a common contour; fixedly connecting the connected first end of the first pre-tuft and the first end of the at least second tuft element so that a final tuft having the second predetermined shape and a connected end is formed; and attaching the final tuft to a brush body by overmolding the final tuft's connected end with a plastic material.
LIQUID SHIM INJECTION DEVICES AND METHODS FOR INJECTING LIQUID SHIM MATERIAL BETWEEN ADJACENT COMPONENTS
Liquid shim injection devices and methods for injecting liquid shim material into a gap between adjacent components of an assembly. The liquid shim injection devices comprise a body, which comprises an injection shaft, a liquid shim conduit defined within the body and configured to channel liquid shim material within the injection shaft, and a fluid-permeable region formed along the injection shaft, an actuated fluid seal operably coupled to the injection shaft and configured to be selectively conformed among a plurality of conformations, and a fluid seal actuator assembly configured to transition the actuated fluid seal among the plurality of conformations. Methods comprise inserting the injection shaft into a bore that extends through the adjacent components of the assembly, forming a fluid seal between the liquid shim injection device and an interior component of the assembly, and flowing the liquid shim material from the liquid shim injection device into the gap.
Joint structure
A joint structure includes a first member having a fit-in groove, a second member made of a material different from a material of the first member and having an insertion section to be inserted into the fit-in groove, and a plurality of bonding layers having different hardness and formed between the fit-in groove and the insertion section.
Attachment interface for connecting a vehicle composite component
An attachment interface is provided for connecting a vehicle composite component having a plate portion that is made of a fiber reinforced polymer and has a passage extending in a through manner along an axis. The attachment interface provides a metal attachment device, which includes an inner portion engaging the passage and an outer portion defining a connection point suitable to be connected to another vehicle element. The plate portion is axially sandwiched between two layers made of a fiber reinforced polymer composite material selected from the group consisting of BMC (Bulk Molding Compound), LFT (Long Fiber Thermoplastic) and DLFT (Direct Long Fiber Thermoplastic).
Method of manufacturing a moulded product
The present invention relates to methods of manufacturing moulded products, for example building panels, and in particular, but not exclusively, to manufacturing a panel comprising natural stone or rock set into a polymeric layer. The method of manufacturing a moulded product as described herein comprises at least one article being set into a polymeric layer, followed by placing the at least one article and particulate ferrous material in a container so that at least a portion of the or each article is embedded in the particulate ferrous material, introducing a polymeric material into the container to form the moulded product, and removing the moulded product from the container.
Method for flowing fiber to form regions of randomized fiber alignment in a fiber-composite part
A method useful for forming a composite part having regions in which fibers align with the principle stress vectors as well as regions having a randomized fiber alignment. To form the randomized fiber alignment, a preform cavity is formed in a preform arrangement, and the preform arrangement is molded in accordance with compression molding protocols to form a part.
Adhesive barrier design to ensure proper paste flow during blade close process
Devices, systems, and methods of improving paste flow during the manufacture of wind turbine blades are provided. When the first turbine blade half is aligned with the second turbine blade half, a gap is formed between the first shell and the bond cap. The assembly includes a first mold half corresponding to the first turbine blade half and a second mold half corresponding to the second turbine blade half. When the first mold is aligned with the second mold, a second gap is formed. A first barrier is disposed within the first gap and a second barrier disposed within the second gap thereby fluidly sealing a volume defined by the first gap and the second gap to direct adhesive paste flow along the blade span between the adjoining leading and trailing edges.
3D PRINTED VEHICLE ARCHITECTURE, JOINTS AND METHOD
A method of assembling components of a vehicle is provided that includes locating a node relative to an adjoining component, measuring at least one geometrical feature of the node or the adjoining component, 3D printing an assembly adjustment member based on the measuring, and placing the assembly adjustment member proximate at least one of the node or the adjoining component. The assembly adjustment member is configured to allow relative movement between the node and the adjoining component for subsequent processing operations.
Thermoplastic tie-rod
A tie rod that includes a central section, a first tapered section, and a second tapered section. A thermoplastic tube extends the length of the tie rod. The first tapered section includes a first insert positioned within the thermoplastic tube. The second tapered section includes a second insert positioned within the thermoplastic tube. A channel extends through the tie rod along the central section, the first tapered section, and the second tapered section.
