A hollow passage may be defined in the tire holder shaft. A spray nozzle may be connected to a spray shaft that is telescopically disposed in the hollow passage of the tire holder shaft. The spray nozzle may extend to spray an air barrier material onto the tire.

Process and an apparatus for applying noise-reducing elements to a tyre for vehicle wheels that has a radially inner surface with a service area and having a circumferential dimension. The process determines the position in circumferential direction of the service area on the radially inner surface of the tyre, determines the position in circumferential direction of a target area on the radially inner surface of the tyre based on the position in circumferential direction of the service area, and applies a noise-reducing element at the target area. The position in circumferential direction of the service area is determined by circumferentially inspecting the radially inner surface of the tyre starting from a reference position, detecting the angular position of the service area with respect to the reference position and determining the position in circumferential direction of the service area based on the angular position and on the circumferential dimension of the radially inner surface of the tyre.

A system and method is provided for reading and/or writing data from/on RFID tags of tires conveyed on a conveyor belt in a conveyance direction, wherein each tire is fitted with a respective RFID tag storing a univocal identifier of said tire. An antenna is installed over or nearby the conveyor belt and configured to radiate RF signals toward a footprint area on the conveyor belt and receive backscattered RF signals from said footprint area. A reader is connected to the antenna to operate the latter in transmission and reception. A preliminary calibration step is applied to the reader and a reading and/or writing step is carried out by operating the calibrated reader.

Apparatus for applying noise-reducing elements to a tyre for vehicle wheels that has a radially inner surface with a service area and a circumferential dimension. The apparatus determines the position in circumferential direction of the service area, determines the position in circumferential direction of a target area on the radially inner surface of the tyre based on the position in circumferential direction of the service area, and applies a noise-reducing element the target area. The invention relates to a method for marking a vehicle tyre (20) and a corresponding marking station. In one example, the vehicle tyre is supplied (100) to a marking station (10), the vehicle tyre (20) is aligned and centred (102, 103) in the marking station (10), marking is performed (108) in the marking station in accordance with characteristics of the vehicle tyre (20), and marking is performed (108) using one marking device (12) from a multiplicity of different marking devices (12). The method according to the invention is distinguished by the fact that the marking device (12) for marking the vehicle tyre (20) is positioned (107) at the vehicle tyre (20) by means of a robot arm (11).
Hydraulic tire curing press apparatus and a method for adjusting mold height in a hydraulic tire curing press
A curing press for tires includes an upper cavity having a vertically separable upper housing and a top mold. A lower cavity is mounted on a base and forms an arrangement to provide mold height adjustment during curing. The base includes a bottom bolster structure and a bottom mold. An indexing lock ring is rotatably arranged with the bottom bolster structure for closing or opening of the top and bottom molds. The bolster structure includes squeeze cylinders having piston rods to provide mold height adjustment. A squeeze retract stop assembly is provided to restrict vertically downward movement of the bottom mold during a tire curing process. The press includes at least one locking lever and at least one indexing lock pin adapted to connect the at least one locking lever to lock holes in the bottom bolster structure wherein each lock hole corresponds to a particular mold height.
