A mold is for press molding a metal plate and a resin material to produce a metal-resin composite. The mold includes an upper mold and a lower mold that sandwich the metal plate and the resin material. A cavity for arranging the resin material is provided by the upper mold and the lower mold. The upper mold has a recess into which the resin material leaking from the cavity is caused to flow.

MOLD, APPARATUS, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING METAL-RESIN COMPOSITE

A mold for producing a metal-resin composite by press-forming a metal member and integrally molding the metal member that is press-formed and a resin material includes an upper mold and a lower mold that sandwich the metal member and the resin material. The upper mold includes a first press surface for press-forming the metal member and a second press surface for integrally molding the metal member and the resin material. A distance between the first press surface and the lower mold is shorter than a distance between the second press surface and the lower mold.

SKIN-BONDED THREADED INSERTS, SANDWICH PANELS INCLUDING THE SAME, AND RELATED METHODS

Skin-bonded threaded inserts may be installed within a sandwich panel by curing the insert in place as the sandwich panel is cured. Skin-bonded threaded inserts may include a collar that is transitioned between a raised position and a compressed position during installation of the skin-bonded threaded insert in the sandwich panel, due to compression of the sandwich panel during curing. Skin-bonded threaded inserts may include one or more flanges that engage one or more skins of the sandwich panel. Such flanges may be positioned between two skins, or between the core and a skin of the sandwich panel to secure the sandwich panel in place within the sandwich panel. Skin-bonded threaded inserts may be positioned within a sandwich panel without the use of potting compound and may engage with the skins of the sandwich panel, rather than relying on adherence to the core for sufficient pull-out and shear strength.

Bearing, traction or drive element made of an elastomer material having embedded electronic components

A band or belt designed as an elongate bearing, traction or drive element running around rollers or pulleys and made of an elastomer material, and preferably provided with embedded reinforcing elements or tension members extending in the longitudinal direction of the band or belt, having the following features: the band or the belt has one or more elongate tubular receptacles embedded in the elastomer material, in the cavity of which electronic components are arranged, preferably sensors, signal processing or control devices and/or transmission devices, the tubular receptacles are embedded in the elastomer material in such a way that their longitudinal axis or the direction of their greatest extent is oriented substantially transversely to the main bending direction of the band or belt.

Inner part and resin molded article

Provided are an inner part and a resin molded article according to which it is possible to mitigate the concentration of stress at a distal end of a melt rib. An inner part, around which an outer portion is to be arranged through integral molding, includes a main body portion made of resin, and a melt rib provided protruding outward from the main body portion. The melt rib is formed such that a height of the melt rib is greater than a thickness of the melt rib, the thickness decreases from the main body portion to a distal end of the melt rib, and the melt rib includes a melting portion configured to partially melt during molding of the outer portion.

CARRIER WITH LOCALIZED FIBROUS INSERT AND METHODS
20230093318 · 2023-03-23 ·

A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (ii) at least one consolidated fibrous insert (14) having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. The fibrous insert is envisioned to adjoin the mass of the polymeric material in a predetermined location for carrying a predetermined load that is subjected upon the predetermined location (thereby effectively providing localized reinforcement to that predetermined location). The fibrous insert and the mass of polymeric material are of compatible materials, structures or both, for allowing the fibrous insert to be at least partially joined to the mass of the polymeric material. Disposed upon at least a portion of the carrier may be a mass of activatable material.

Electric wire, cable, and manufacturing method of electric wire

An electrical wire includes a conductor and an insulating layer that covers the conductor and that is cross-linked. The insulating layer is a cross-linked product of a resin composition including (a) a base polymer containing polyolefin and a compatibilizer, (b) a photoradical generator of 0.5 parts by mass or more and 3 parts by mass or less relative to the 100 parts by mass of the base polymer, and (c) a reactive monomer of 1 part by mass or more and 5 parts by mass or less relative to the 100 parts by mass of the base polymer. A relative dielectric constant of the insulating layer is less than 2.5.

ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

An article includes a foamed member including a polymeric material, and a core embedded in the foamed member, the core includes a first surface, a second surface and a sidewall, the foamed member covers at least a portion of the first surface, and covers the entire sidewall and the entire second surface. A method of manufacturing an article includes providing a molding device including a first mold and a second mold, the first mold includes a supporting member protruded from an inner wall. The method further includes disposing a core on the supporting member; disposing the second mold over the first mold to form a mold cavity, the core is disposed within the mold cavity; injecting a first material into the mold cavity; and foaming the first material to form a first foamed member, wherein at least a portion of the first foamed member is in contact with the core.

Carrier with localized fibrous insert and methods

A structural reinforcement for an article including a carrier that includes: (i) a mass of polymeric material having an outer surface; and (is) at least one consolidated fibrous insert having an outer surface and including at least one elongated fiber arrangement having a plurality of ordered fibers arranged in a predetermined manner. The fibrous insert is envisioned to adjoin the mass of the polymeric material in a predetermined location for carrying a predetermined load that is subjected upon the predetermined location (thereby effectively providing localized reinforcement to that predetermined location). An insert (105) for a wind turbine blade root. The insert (105) has a bushing (40) and an outer surface with circumferential annular grooves (68). A transition layer (102) is built up around the bushing (40). The transition layer (102) has fibrous material sheet layers and filamentary material windings (80) in the grooves which alternate with fibrous plies (98) covering the grooves (68). Each fibrous ply (98) is anchored into the grooves (68) by the windings (80). Fibrous battens (148) are fitted around the transition layer (102) to form an insert body (108). Each batten (148) has a deltoid cross-section so that the battens give the insert a quadrilateral or trapezoidal cross-section.
