Manufacturing method of resin frame
A resin frame includes frame members combined into a frame shape that includes a corner portion, and a joint portion joining a pair of the frame members which are adjacent to each other at the corner portion. The joint portion includes an entire-surface welded portion, in which end surfaces of the pair of the frame members are welded to each other over an entire surface in a thickness direction of a plate portion of the frame members, and a partial welded portion, in which the end surfaces of the pair of the frame members are welded to each other on one side of the entire surface in the thickness direction while another side of the entire surface in the thickness direction is not welded. The entire-surface welded portion and the partial welded portion are present at different portions on an outer periphery of the joint portion.
SELECTIVELY FILLED HOLLOW PROFILES AND METHODS OF PREPARING HOLLOW PROFILES FOR JOINING OPERATIONS
Embodiments herein relate to hollow profiles and methods of preparing the same for joining operations. A method herein can include placing a dam within a channel defined by the hollow profile, fitting a die block over an end of the channel, and injecting a flowable composition through an injection port into the channel. Another method can include defining a volume within a first member using at least one flow control device, filling the defined volume with a flowable polymeric composition, allowing the flowable polymeric composition to solidify to form a solid portion in the first member, and mechanically modifying the solid portion to define a joining surface suitable for joining to the second member. Other embodiments are also included herein.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE CONFIGURATION OF A USER SPECIFIC AUDITORY SYSTEM
A device configuring a user-specific hearing system includes a sound generator for generating sound events and a control unit. At least one loudspeaker at a distance from the user of the hearing system and a control unit for reproducing sound events is provided. The control unit causes the sound generator to generate sound events with different frequencies in a predetermined sequence. The generated sound events are amplified and transmitted for reproduction as sound events with the same loudness to the loudspeaker unit or reproduced directly by the hearing system. The control unit receives evaluation data representing a user-perceived loudness difference between repeated sound events adjacent in the frequency range. The control unit generates correction values which are outputted and can be used in the hearing system in order to configure its converter unit in such a manner that the perceived loudness difference is reduced or preferably eliminated.
FIBER-REINFORCED COMPOSITE EXTRUSION WITH ENHANCED PROPERTIES
Embodiments herein include compositions, extruded articles, and methods of making the same. In an embodiment, an extruded article is included. The extruded article can include an extruded segment comprising a first composition. The first composition can include a polymer resin, an impact modifier and fibers. In some embodiments, the extruded segment can have a surface exhibiting an average depression depth of less than 0.0045 inches (0.1143 mm). Other embodiments are also included herein.
Corner joint and method of manufacturing
Corner joints and methods of forming corner joints are described herein. The corner joints may provide the appearance of a mortise and tenon joint on both the exterior and interior surfaces of the corner joint, but include a mitered connection within the joint. Structures including at least one of the corner joints are also described.
Method of fabricating fiber reinforced composite structure having stepped surface
Fiber reinforced composite structures having curved stepped surfaces are fabricated by laying up plies of fiber reinforced material over a tool having a stepped tool feature. The plies are rotated about a fixed axis as they are laid up to substantially form a fixed axis rosette pattern. The plies are angularly oriented such that at least certain of the plies have fiber orientations other than 0, +45, −45 and 90 degrees. Potential bridging of the fibers over the stepped tool features is reduced or eliminated by cutting slits in the plies in the area of the stepped features, so that the plies can be fully compacted.
Three-dimensional printing process for obtaining a manufactured article with material effect
The three-dimensional printing process for obtaining a manufactured article with material effect comprises: a supply step of an image (1) in digital format reproducing a wooden surface portion provided with a plurality of grains (2), comprising a plurality of pixels; an identification step of a color range datum of each of pixels by means of a software; a transformation step of the color range datum into a depth spatial datum to produce a three-dimensional digital model of a manufactured article with material effect (3) provided with an outer surface (4) reproducing the grains (2) by means of a plurality of grooves (5) with variable depth; a three-dimensional printing step of the model to obtain the manufactured article with material effect (3) by means of a molding device (10, 13); and a painting step of the outer surface (4) by means of a paint (9), the paint (9) accumulating in the grooves (5) and reproducing the color range of the grains (2).
Low heat build-up capstock system and extrusion technology for solid and foamed profiles in dark colors
A weatherable, low heat build-up capstock system comprising an acrylic cap, a pigment system that is IR transparent to a greater degree than existing pigment systems, an IR reflective substrate, and an extrusion system for same.
Apparatus for transferring a component portion of an injection molded plastic component from a first state to a second state
Apparatus for transferring at least one component portion of an at least partially undercut injection molded plastic component, particularly a window frame trim component, from a first state, in which the at least one component portion has a geometric deviation from a component-specific reference state, to a second state, in which the at least one component portion has no geometric deviation from the component-specific reference state.
