SYSTEM FOR MONITORING CUTTING DEVICES IN A PACKAGING PRODUCTION LINE
A system for monitoring cutting devices in a packaging production line having a line for supplying a material to be cut, an area of a predetermined type of cutting device, and a packaging output line is provided. The system includes means for counting cutting actions of the cutting device, configured to provide a time series of cutting action counting data, a video camera to frame an area of the output line, the video camera configured to provide video data of packaging elements in the output line, first code means, configured to run, on a computer, a first algorithm for recognizing cutting defects starting from video data, the first algorithm providing defect recognition data, and second code means, configured to run, on the computer, a trained expert algorithm to predict cutting performance degradation based on historical defect recognition data, time series of cutting action counting data, and type of cutting device.
DOUBLE GLUE JOINT SYSTEM AND METHOD THEREOF
A system and method for a double glue joint is provided. The box is movable between knockdown and assembled configurations. In the knockdown configuration, the box includes a plurality of co-planar panels connected to one another, with a first and last panel each having a free end having a tab. One of these tabs, along with a portion of the panel adjoining the tab, are coated with adhesive. The box is movable to an assembled configuration by folding the panels relative to each other by one or more score lines until the free ends of the first and last panels meet. Utilizing the adhesive, the tab of the last panel is secured to an exterior surface of the first panel while the tab of the first panel is secured to an interior surface of the last panel, thus forming a double glue joint with interior and exterior connections.
Knocked-down case inspection and erection method
Techniques for corrugate and chipboard knocked-down case inspection and assembly are described herein. In one example, the disclosed techniques include a method to inspect and assemble a knocked-down case. In the example, a measurement of at least one aspect of the knocked-down case is obtained. A difference is determined between the obtained measurement and a standard measurement and/or a range of standard measurements. Programming of a case-handling tool is executed that is based at least in part on the determined difference. In an example, the programming is configured to adjust for and/or compensate for differences between the actual knocked-down case and a knocked-down case that is within a specification. A case-handling tool is operated responsive to the executed programming to at least partially erect the knocked-down case into an erected case.
Method and system for forming packages
A method of forming reinforced packages. The method can comprise moving a blank in a machine direction on a blank conveyor, and forming a tubular web while moving a first web of material and a second web of material in the machine direction. The forming the tubular web can comprise at least partially sealing at least a portion of the first web and the second web together to form a sealed margin of the tubular web. The method further can comprise forming a liner by cutting the tubular web, forming an attached blank by attaching the liner to the blank, and moving the attached blank in the machine direction on the blank conveyor.
PACKING BOX FOLDING SYSTEM
A packing box folding system, and the packing box folding system including a transfer conveyor on which transfers the packing box from a packing box introducing position to a folded packing box discharging position; a fixed guide panel which extends between the packing box introducing position and the packing box discharging position and is disposed on one side of the transfer conveyor in the width-direction; and a movable suction device which is disposed on the side opposite to the fixed guide panel in the width-direction of the transfer conveyor and is movable between the packing box introducing position and the packing box discharging position, wherein the movable suction device suctions the side surface of the packing box, which faces the side surface in contact with the fixed guide panel, and presses the suctioned side surface inward in the width-direction.
OPENING PACK
In an example embodiment, a pack for tobacco articles comprises an inner sleeve, and an outer box comprising front and back covers that allow access to the inner sleeve when the outer box is opened. The inner sleeve can include a front connecting panel pivotally connecting a front wall of the inner sleeve to an inner surface of the front cover and a back connecting panel pivotally connecting a back wall of the inner sleeve to an inner surface of the back cover. A slot in the outer box is configured to allow opening of the outer box by applying pressure against a bottom wall of the inner sleeve.
DEVICE FOR MEASURING A WIDTH OF A SLOT IN A PRODUCT
A measuring device for measuring a width (W) between a first edge (4) and a second edge (5) of spaced apart opposed edges (4, 5) of a slot (16) in a product (1′), comprising: a measuring part (18), with a measuring detector and a display (28), and provided with a first tab (37) configured to enter into the slot (16), and a slide (29), defining a longitudinal axis (X), being arranged so as to be adjustable relative to the measuring part (18) along the longitudinal axis (X), and provided with a second tab (46) being configured to enter into the slot (16).
The slide (29) is adjusted so that a first surface (44) of the first tab (37) contacts the first edge (4) and a second surface (49) of the second tab (46) contacts the second edge (5).
A distance (d) between the first surface (44) and the second surface (49) corresponding to the width (W) is detected by the measuring detector, and the value of the width (W) is displayed by the display (28).
The first and second tabs (37, 46) are oriented downwardly relative to the measuring part (18), perpendicular or transverse to the longitudinal axis (X) of the slide (29).
Sheet folding device and carton folder
A sheet folding device includes forming belts which are disposed on both sides in a transfer direction of a corrugated board and move to a center side in a width direction of the corrugated board toward a downstream side in the transfer direction to press both end portions in the width direction from an outside so as to bend both the end portions; and a gauge roller group including several gauge rollers which are disposed along the transfer direction and come into contact with outer sides of both bent portions in the width direction of the corrugated board bent by the forming belts. In the several gauge rollers, recessed portions are provided on outer peripheral surfaces of the gauge rollers in a circumferential direction. Positions of the recessed portions are disposed to be offset downward in a vertical direction toward a downstream side in the transfer direction.
SLITTER DEVICE, SLITTER-HEAD POSITIONING METHOD, AND BOX MAKING MACHINE
A slitter device includes an upper rotary shaft and a lower rotary shaft that are supported so as to be able to rotate. An upper slitter head that is supported by the upper rotary shaft so as to be able to rotate therewith.
