Method for forming a sleeve for insulating a joint of downhole tubing
A method for forming a sleeve for wrapping around and insulating a joint of a downhole tubing string is provided. The method includes the steps of providing a mold, applying insulation around the mold, winding an interfacing material around the insulation; and applying a polymer onto the interfacing material to bind to the interfacing material to form the sleeve.
PACKAGING MATERIAL FOR PREVENTION OF RUSTING AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A packaging material (material) of the present invention is used to cover and wrap the metal parts during transportation and storing and in order to prevent rusting and corrosion. The material includes an inner layer and a pair of outer layers sandwiching the inner layer. The inner layer is formed from extruded rigid PET material wherein the outer layers are fabricated from VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) embedded into extruded sheets of rigid PET. The material is used for packaging for all ferrous metals for anti-rust. As VCI is thermoformed to embed corrosion inhibitors directly into rigid plastic material of the outer layers it improves quality by ensuring corrosion inhibitors are incorporated into all packaging.
Insulation blanket having a deposited passivator for industrial insulation applications
A passivating flexible insulation blanket positionable about a pipe includes an insulation core, an enclosing fabric, and a non-consumable passivator. The insulation core is substantially hydrophobic and includes a microporous material. The enclosing fabric fully encapsulates the insulation core to form a capsule or pouch about the insulation core. The non-consumable passivator is non-consumable such that there is no appreciable change to a mass of the non-consumable passivator after an extended time of activation. The non-consumable passivator is deposited into the insulation core and has a composition soluble in water. The non-consumable passivator includes a leachable component that leaches from the insulation core and is capable of neutralizing acidic components. The leachable component is water soluble and is capable of reacting with a surface of the pipe to form a protective coating on the pipe to aid in inhibiting corrosion formation on the surface of the pipe.
Supported elastomeric foams and processes for making same
A supported elastomeric foam (100) includes an elastomeric matrix (102) formed of an elastomer and including a reinforcement region (104) and a foamed region (106). The foamed region includes gas filled cells (108) in the elastomer, and the reinforcement region includes a porous layer (204) having an interconnected network of pores at least partially imbibed with the elastomer. The foam can include an adhesive at a surface of the foam. A compressible seal (802) including a compressible body, which can be elastomeric foam, can also include a pattern of discontinuous adhesive regions about which the compressible body can deform to form a sea. The supported elastomeric foam can form a gas tight seal in an interface when placed under minimal compression.
Thermally activatable, fast curing adhesive coating
The present invention relates to a thermally activatable adhesive composition for use in a method for producing a stack of metal sheets from glued together sheet metal components, the use of the adhesive composition in a method for producing a stack of metal sheets from glued together sheet metal components, the method for producing a stack of metal sheets from glued together sheet metal components, a sheet metal component coated with the adhesive composition, and a stator or rotor core containing one or more of such sheet metal components.
HYBRID PISTON PIN AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A hybrid piston pin and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The hybrid piston pin includes a cylindrical pin formed of steel, a first reinforcement layer that is formed of a composite that includes reinforced fibers and a resin, having a cylindrical shape with a uniform thickness, and coupled to the interior surface of the cylindrical pin. A second reinforcement layer is formed of a composite that includes reinforced fibers having an elasticity that is less than the reinforced fibers of the first reinforcement layer. Further, a resin having a cylindrical shape with a uniform thickness is coupled to the interior surface of the first reinforcement layer.
REINFORCED RIGID INSULATION
A reinforced insulation assembly is disclosed. The assembly includes insulation, a reinforcement layer, and an adhesive for attaching the reinforcement layer to a surface of the insulation. The reinforced layer is fully immersed within the adhesive and penetrates the surface of the insulation.
