IDENTIFYING PRINTING SUBSTRATE TYPES
Devices and methods for identifying categories or types of print media in image forming apparatuses are disclosed. In an example method print media are advanced in a feeding direction to reach a cutting position, a cutter is advanced in a cutting direction, perpendicular to the feeding direction to cut the print media, friction between the cutter and the print medium is measured, and the print media are identified based on the measured friction.

DETECTING A LEVEL OF PRINTABLE FLUID IN A CONTAINER
A method of detecting a level of printable fluid in a container includes, with at least one sensing location on a die in thermal contact with the printable fluid in the container, sensing a voltage of a capacitor over time as current from the capacitor leaks through a field effect transistor (FET). The FET and capacitor are associated with the sensing location. The method may further include, based on the voltage of the capacitor over time and a threshold voltage, determining whether the printable fluid is present at the at least one sensing location.

Control device, control method, and system
A control device for controlling an image processing apparatus including a disposition unit on which a printing medium is disposed and which has a plurality of suction holes for sucking the printing medium includes a display controller that displays, on a display, a display screen which is a screen showing the positions of the plurality of suction holes in the disposition unit, a selection receiver that receives selection of suction holes from the plurality of suction holes whose positions are displayed on the display screen, and an execution controller that performs control such that a suction operation is executed through at least some of the selected suction holes.
