Recording material and compound
An object of the present invention is to provide a recording material or a recording sheet using, as a color-developing agent, a non-phenol-based compound good in color developing performance and the like. A compound represented by the following formula (I) is used as the color-developing agent: ##STR00001##
(wherein X represents CH.sub.2 or the like; R.sup.1 to R.sup.3 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or the like; n1 and n3 each independently represent any integer of 1 to 5; two groups represented by R.sup.3 adjacent to each other on a benzene ring optionally bond to each other to form an optionally substituted 6-membered ring; and n2 represents any integer of 1 to 4).

The present invention relates to method of manufacturing a tamper-proof medium for thermal printing, wherein a liquid treatment composition comprising at least one acid is deposited on a substrate which comprises a thermochromic coating layer comprising at least one halochromic leuco dye.
Thermal Adhesive Paper
A thermal adhesive paper including a base stock with a thermal ink layer covering at least a portion of the base stock top surface and an activatable adhesive layer covering at least a portion of the base stock bottom surface is described. The thermal adhesive layer can be used in a thermal printer for printing a transaction receipt, with the adhesive being selectively activated during printing. The activatable adhesive may be thermally activated, with a higher temperature needed to activate the adhesive than to activate the thermal ink.
Reversible recording medium, reversible recording medium coating, and exterior member
A reversible recording medium of an embodiment of the disclosure includes a support base, and a recording layer provided on the support base and reversibly changing between a recorded state and a deleted state. The recording layer includes a photothermal conversion material including one or more of a compound having a phthalocyanine skeleton, a compound having a squarylium skeleton, a compound having a cyanine skeleton including, in a molecule, one or both of a counter ion of SbF.sub.6, PF.sub.6, BF.sub.4, ClO.sub.4, CF.sub.3SO.sub.3 and (CF.sub.3SO.sub.3).sub.2N and a methine chain containing a five-membered ring or a six-membered ring, and an inorganic compound; a coloring compound having an electron-donating property; and a color developing/quenching agent having an electron-accepting property and including at least one salicylic acid compound represented by the general formula (1) and including a linear hydrocarbon group having 25 to 34 carbon atoms via a linking group containing an amide moiety.
Heat-Sensitive Recording Material Comprising Phenol-Free Organic Colour Developers
A description is given of a heat-sensitive recording material, comprising phenol-free organic color developers, more particularly comprising a color developer mixture comprising phenol-free organic color developers, of a heat-sensitive recording layer and also of a coating composition for producing it, of the use of the heat-sensitive recording material, of the use of an organic color developer of a formula I for improving the resistance of the printed image of a heat-sensitive recording material, and of a method for producing heat-sensitive recording material.
Thermosensitive recording medium
In one aspect, the present invention relates to a thermosensitive recording medium comprising at least: —a support layer; —a thermosensitive colouring layer over the support layer, the thermosensitive colouring layer containing a leuco dye; and —a protective layer over the thermosensitive colouring layer; wherein the thermosensitive colouring layer comprises a developer having the general formula (I) below: wherein R.sub.1 to R.sub.3 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C6 alkoxyl group, a C1-C6 fluoroalkyl group; characterized in that the protective layer comprises particles of wax with an average particle size of at least 0.05 μm and at most 2.0 μm. In further aspects, the present invention relates to a label for attachment to a product comprising the thermosensitive recording medium of the invention, and to a consumer product package to which a thermosensitive recording medium or a label of the invention has been attached. ##STR00001##
RECORDING MEDIUM AND EXTERIOR MEMBER
A recording medium according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a recording layer including a leuco dye as a coloring compound; a first barrier film that is provided on each of one surface and another surface opposed to the one surface of the recording layer, and suppresses intrusion of moisture, oxygen, or both; and a second barrier film having chemical resistance and provided on a side surface of the recording layer continuously at least from a peripheral part of the one surface to a peripheral part of the other surface of the recording layer.
A COMPOSITION
The invention is directed towards a composition comprising: a near-infrared radiation absorbing compound; a colour-forming compound; and a heat transfer agent operable to facilitate heat transfer from the near-infrared radiation absorbing compound to the colour-forming compound; wherein the near-infrared radiation absorbing compound is present in an amount of 0.1-3.5 wt % of the total composition, and the heat transfer agent is present in an amount of 1-15 wt % of the total composition, and the heat transfer agent is present in the composition as solid particles. The invention further relates to substrates comprising the composition applied thereto, as well as methods of forming colour or an image on said substrates.
Shielded direct thermal label and methods
A label comprises a facestock adapted to be adhered or attached to an object. A direct thermal coating is on the facestock, the direct thermal coating configured to selectively darken by heat activation when direct thermal printed. A cured ultraviolet coating is on the direct thermal coating, the cured ultraviolet coating having photoinitiators with substantial activation at an exposure limited to radiation at a 315 nm-450 nm wavelength range, and configured to allow direct thermal printing of the direct thermal coating therethrough. The ultraviolet coating is cured without heat activating the direct thermal coating.
THERMOSENSITIVE RECORDING MEDIUM, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THERMOSENSITIVE RECORDING MEDIUM, AND ARTICLE
A thermosensitive recording medium includes a support, and a thermosensitive recording layer disposed on or above the support, wherein the thermosensitive recording layer includes a non-phenolic color developer and a sensitizer that includes fatty acid amide, and wherein an amount of the fatty acid amide in the sensitizer is 60% by mass or greater.
