Printable and scuff resistant silicone release coating for linerless thermally-responsive record material
The present invention is directed to a composition and method of providing a silicone release coating material for a thermally-responsive record material while maintaining strong printability with UV inks and water based inks, as well as scuff resistance. The thermally-responsive record material includes a substrate with first and second surfaces. The first surface includes a heat sensitive coating having a colorless dye precursor and an acidic developer material in contiguous relationship. The release coating is provided with an aqueous mixture of a water soluble or water dispersible polymeric material, a silicone release agent, an excess of platinum catalyst, and a hydrophilic silica. The platinum catalyst is preferably provided in excess of 150 ppm. The hydrophilic silica is preferably fumed silica. The release coating is cured at a temperature of 160° C. or less, or even from 70° C. to 120° C.
Thermal transfer sheet, coating liquid for release layer, and method for producing thermal transfer sheet
To provide a coating liquid for release layer with which a release layer having a small variation in the performance difference can be stably formed, to provide a method for producing a thermal transfer sheet using this coating liquid for release layer, and to provide a thermal transfer sheet having stable releasability. A thermal transfer sheet having a substrate 1, a release layer 2 provided on the substrate 1, and a transfer layer 10 provided on the release layer 2, wherein the transfer layer 10 is provided peelably from the release layer 2, and the release layer 2 contains a silsesquioxane.
THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET
To provide a thermal transfer sheet capable of preventing print omission from occurring on a transfer layer to be transferred and producing of a print having a good gloss.
A back face layer 20 is provided on one surface of the substrate 1 and a transfer layer 10 is provided on the other surface of the substrate, the transfer layer 10 has a single-layer or layered structure including a protective layer 5, the back face layer contains spherical particles 25, and when the surface of the back face layer is observed using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) at a magnification of 5000 times, the proportion of the total of the projected areas of the spherical particles is 1.8% or more and 20% or less based on the area of the entire observed surface.
Thermal transfer sheet
There is provided a thermal transfer sheet having satisfactory peelability when a transfer layer is peeled off without being affected by a peeling environment when the transfer layer is peeled off. A thermal transfer sheet 100 includes a substrate 1 and a transfer layer 10 provided on one surface of the substrate 1, in which the peeling force in a stable period is in the range of 4.6 g/cm or more and 23 g/cm or less when the transfer layer 10 is peeled off at a peeling temperature in the range of 30° C. or more and 70° C. or less and at a peeling angle of 90° while the surface of the transfer layer 10 on the side opposite to the substrate 1 is made to serve as a peeling interface.
Linerless thermosensitive recording body package
Provided is a linerless thermosensitive recording body package, a roll of a linerless thermosensitive recording sheet being packaged in the linerless thermosensitive recording body package, the linerless thermosensitive recording sheet including a support, a thermosensitive color developing layer over one surface of the support, a release layer over the thermosensitive color developing layer, and an adhesive layer over an opposite surface of the support, the linerless thermosensitive recording sheet being wound in roll shape in a manner that the adhesive layer comes to an internal side of the support, wherein a peel force for peeling the linerless thermosensitive recording sheet from the roll is 50 mN/50 mm or greater but 250 mN/50 mm or less, wherein a water content of the linerless thermosensitive recording sheet is 4.5% or higher but 6.5% or lower, the roll of the linerless thermosensitive recording sheet being seal-packaged in the linerless thermosensitive recording body package.
THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET, COMBINATION OF THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET AND INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER MEDIUM, METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRINT, AND THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTER
Provided are a combination of a thermal transfer sheet and an intermediate transfer medium which is capable of accurately transferring only a transfer layer of the intermediate transfer medium desired to be transferred onto a transfer receiving article in the production of a print, and a thermal transfer sheet which is used in combination with an intermediate transfer medium. Also provided are a method for producing a print, comprising accurately transferring only a transfer layer of an intermediate transfer medium desired to be transferred onto a transfer receiving article, and a thermal transfer printer which is used in this method for producing a print. In the thermal transfer sheet which is used in combination with an intermediate transfer medium, inhibit layer 2 is disposed on substrate 1, and the inhibit layer 2 contains a carnauba wax.
