A machine according to at least one embodiment of the present invention comprises a rubber material to be supplied with an oil product containing a softener, wherein an absolute difference between a solubility parameter of the softener and a solubility parameter of the rubber material is 1.7 or less. The machine having a communication portion connecting the rubber material and an outside of the machine, and is configured to supply the oil product from a first end of the communication portion to a second end of the communication portion.

PRINTER DUCTOR ROLLER AND ELECTROMAGNETIC VALVE PROTECTION MEMBER BUILT INTO DUCTOR ROLLER
20200338881 · 2020-10-29 ·

A ductor roller for printing machines has a shaft provided with an air supply pipe, plural individual ductor rollers, and plural electromagnetic valves, both connected to the shaft. The individual ductor rollers advance pneumatically by the electromagnetic valves. The individual ductor rollers have housings that are associated with the shaft and configured to move forward and backward; roller members configured to contact with the ink fountain roller and an ink distribution roller; and bearings connecting the roller members to the housings. The electromagnetic valves are placed in the housings. Protection members for the electromagnetic valves are oil-resistant, have circularly cylindrical or arc-like covers, and are associated with the shaft. They cover the side ends of the housings and are placed in the clearance between the individual ductor rollers. The protection members do not need an exchange, discharge cleaning liquid for printing machines along troughs and prevent the electromagnetic valves from being contaminated by the cleaning liquid.

Process for producing a printing surface

A process for producing a fluid transfer surface, which process comprises: providing a titanium or titanium alloy surface; subjecting the titanium or titanium alloy surface to surface hardening by interstitial element absorption to provide a hardened surface; and, if required engraving the hardened surface to provide a desired surface topography.

ANILOX ROLLER AND COATING APPARATUS

An anilox roller and a coating apparatus are provided. The anilox roller includes a roller body and an annular boss formed on a surface of the roller body. The annular boss extends in a circumferential direction of the roller body. The annular boss includes a circumferential surface, a first side surface, and a second side surface. The first side surface and the second side surface face each other in an axial direction of the roller body. The circumferential surface connects the first side surface and the second side surface, and the circumferential surface includes an anilox region having an etched anilox. A first blank region without an etched anilox is arranged between the anilox region and the first side surface.

METHOD OF PRODUCING PRINTED SUBSTRATE
20190275785 · 2019-09-12 ·

A method of producing a printed substrate includes rotating an anilox roll having first recesses supplied with a coating liquid, rotating a plate cylinder fitted with a printing plate having second recesses, transferring the coating liquid from the first recesses to the second recesses and holding the coating liquid in the second recesses, and rotating the plate cylinder while keeping the outer surface of the printing plate in contact with a printed substrate to transfer the coating liquid held in the second recesses to the printed substrate. A ratio of a maximum volume of the coating liquid held by the second recesses per unit area on the outer surface of the printing plate to a maximum volume of the coating liquid held by the first recesses per unit area on the outer surface of the anilox roll ranges from 0.50 to 2.00.

High durability print roller

Improved pliable print rollers for high speed drink can printing machines increase the pliable roller life five- to ten-fold at comparable ink thickness and machine speed. The improved performance results from the selection of materials utilized including a combination of elastomers, and in some case an essentially oil-free composition, and an associated manufacturing process not previously utilized to create pliable print rollers for high speed drink can printing machines. In particular a particular embodiment, the composition includes a combination of elastomers (e.g., 75% polyisoprene and 25% polybutadiene), a filler (e.g., silica), a curing agent (e.g., peroxided), and other additives (e.g., pigment, antioxidant, antiozonant) with little or no oil added as a softener. An illustrative composition including 150 parts by weight contains 100 parts elastomer, 35 parts filler, 4 parts curing agent, and 11 parts other additives (i.e., zero parts oil softener).
