Observation-enhanced virtual master system for a printing press
A web printing press is provided. The web printing press includes at least one printing unit printing images on a web, at least one press component in direct contact with the web, a cutting device for cutting the web into sheets and a controller transmitting a virtual master signal to the at least one printing unit and at least one press component. A sensor senses the at least one press component or directly senses the web downstream of the at least one print unit and generates a sensor signal. A processor receives the sensor signal and the virtual master signal, the processor transmits a modified virtual master signal to the cutting device as a function of the received sensor signal. Methods are also provided.
Inker Assembly Including Oscillation Rollers For A Can Body Decorator
An oscillating roller system for a beverage can decorator is driven back and forth by a cam follower. A cam body having a cam is mounted to a frame of the inker system. Three oscillating cam roller assemblies are positioned about the cam body. Rotation of the cam oscillates the cam followers for each one of the oscillating rollers. Bearings of the oscillating roller assemblies includes an inlet gallery and outlet gallery for a closed loop lubrication system. The rollers are water cooled.
Device for printing on hollow bodies
An inking unit of a printing unit and a device for printing on hollow bodies each have a cylindrical lateral surface. The device comprises the inking unit. The inking unit has an anilox roller which receives a printing ink from an ink reservoir and has an inking roller placed against a printing cylinder of the printing unit. A rider roller is arranged axially parallel to the anilox roller in a region between the ink reservoir and the inking roller, that region being located subsequent to the ink reservoir in a direction of rotation of the anilox roller. The ink reservoir interacts with the anilox roller. The rider roller is placed against the anilox roller. The rider roller is rotationally driven by the anilox roller by friction. The inking roller is rotationally driven by the anilox roller by friction. The plate cylinder and the anilox roller are each independently rotationally driven by a motor.

METHOD FOR OPERATING A PRINTING MACHINE FOR FLEXOGRAPHIC PRINTING
A method for operating a printing machine for flexographic printing, wherein a web of printing stock is unwound, transported and thereby guided through at least two double printing units of the printing machine. Each of the double printing units has at least one impression cylinder and in each case two printing cylinders for flexographic printing. The impression cylinders are each driven in rotation by a separate motor and the printing cylinders are each driven in rotation by a separate motor. A computer of the printing machine calculates at least two virtual drive axes and the computer controls the motors in each case using one of the virtual drive axes. The method is particularly suitable for high-production and flexible processing in industrially operated, web-processing flexographic printing machines for packaging printing.
