Binding method of perfect-bound booklet
A binding method of a perfect-bound booklet includes the steps of folding each leaf of sheets forming a body to obtain multiple signatures; pressing creased parts of the multiple signatures in a thickness direction thereof; jogging a one-book bundle formed of a predetermined number of signatures forming a body, a front cover, and a back cover, or a multi-book bundle formed by stacking a plurality of one-book bundles on top of one another; applying a first adhesive that remains flexible upon curing, in a layer in a middle area 5 to 10 millimeters from both top and bottom ends of a rear face of the one-book bundle or the multi-book bundle; applying a second adhesive on the entire rear face; and drying and curing the second adhesive for a predetermined drying time.
Adhesive binder
The invention relates to an adhesive binder with a machine frame, a plurality of processing stations that are attached to the machine frame, at least two transport clamps for transporting book blocks, at least one closed guide track for the transport clamps, and at least one device for changing the overhang of the book blocks. To realize a technology-required change in the overhang in an easy and secure manner, the at least one device for changing the overhang of the book blocks is arranged in such a way as to operate jointly with a lower edge of at least one of the transport clamps, so that the lower edge can be positioned in several first planes of the adhesive binder, which extend parallel to the at least one closed guide track.

Apparatus for, and method of, manufacture of a folded-substrate article
A method and apparatus are provided for the manufacture of an article made up of a number of elements, including a resilient element, that are bonded together during the manufacturing process. The apparatus includes a guide track which defines a path along which the elements travel during the manufacturing process and a compression frame provided along at least part of the length of the track for compressing the resilient element as the resilient member travels along the path defined by the guide track. The process includes moving a combination of article precursor elements together along the guide track rails such that the compression frame acts to press the elements together during bonding. The method and apparatus minimize misalignment of the elements and thereby improve quality of the finished article as well increasing production rates compared to conventional methods and apparatus.

BINDING METHOD OF PERFECT-BOUND BOOKLET
A binding method of a perfect-bound booklet includes the steps of folding each leaf of sheets forming a body to obtain multiple signatures; pressing creased parts of the multiple signatures in a thickness direction thereof; jogging a one-book bundle formed of a predetermined number of signatures forming a body, a front cover, and a back cover, or a multi-book bundle formed by stacking a plurality of one-book bundles on top of one another; applying a first adhesive that becomes flexible by its curing, in a layer in a middle area 5 to 10 millimeters from both top and bottom ends of a rear face of the one-book bundle or the multi-book bundle; applying a second adhesive on the entire rear face; and drying and curing the second adhesive for a predetermined drying time.
Automated method for the production of printed works
The invention concerns an automated method for manufacturing printed publications, for the flexible production, on demand, of a single publication or small series of publications. To this end, an automated method is proposed for the production of printed publications, each consisting of a content block (425) and a cover (426), according to which: the feasibilities of manufacturing the content blocks (425) of the publications are determined (414), an order of priority is established for the manufacture of the publications, the covers (426) to be assembled with the content blocks are manufactured, the manufacture of the content blocks (425) is ordered according to descending order of priority subject to feasibility, which takes precedence over manufacturing priority, and the content blocks (425) are assembled with the corresponding covers (426).
Automated process for digitally manufacturing printed works
The invention concerns a process and a system for the digital printing of printed publications, for the flexible production, on demand, of a single publication or small series of publications. The process of the invention is an automated process for the manufacture of at least one publication printed from at least one sheet, comprising the steps wherein: a plurality of pages (1, 4, 5, 8) of the publication is printed (A) on the sheet (10) that is moved through a series of stations wherein, subsequently, the sheet (10) is folded (C) in half perpendicular to the direction of travel; the folded sheet (10) is pivoted (D) by 90 with respect to the direction of travel, and the edges (18, 19) of the folded sheet are trimmed to obtain separate, superposed leaves (16, 17).
Assembly and method for realizing in continuous covering jackets of different dimensions starting from a film wrapped up in a coil
An assembly for realizing in continuous covering jackets of book elements of different dimensions starting from a film wrapped up in a coil. The assembly includes a mechanism for cutting the film unrolling from the coil for realizing pieces of the film; a first folding device of a first end of the pieces; a second folding device of a second end of the pieces; a control and command unit and a longitudinal welder suitable for both superiorly and inferiorly closing folded pockets and for regulating the height of the cover itself by trimming the parts in excess.
