A free-ink writing instrument mat include a nib drying delay component to prevent drying out of the end of the nib of the writing instrument that is located in the writing ink tank thereof. The nib drying delay component is locally arranged around the end of the nib in a liquid tight manner and configured to locally retain ink therein so as to keep the nib end in contact with locally retained ink.

Angled fountain pens are provided. A pen includes: a shank; an ink tube; a connector connected to the ink tube and the shank; a feeder connected to the connector; and a nib connected to the feeder. A writing tip of the nib extends through a hole in the feeder. The writing tip is resiliently biased against the feeder and is selectively moveable between a first position in which ink flow between the writing tip and the feeder is prevented and a second position in which ink flow between the writing tip and the feeder is permitted.

A device for dosed dispensing of a fluid medium is provided with a pen-like housing which has a storage chamber for accommodating the fluid medium and which has at its front end a tip in which there is provided an outlet opening for the fluid medium. Arranged in the front end is a valve element which closes the outlet opening under the force of a spring and is arranged such that it at least partially opens the outlet opening in the event of radial pressure being applied from the outside on the front end of the housing. The valve element is arranged in a tiltable manner at the outlet opening.
