The back annular support base has a smaller width than a width of the front annular planar body. The first retention member includes a first base plate and a first pair of resiliently flexible spring arms removably connected to the front surface of the front annular planar body. The first pair of resiliently flexible spring arms flex laterally to provide for passage of at least a first portion of the front annular planar body therebetween. The method can include wrapping a first flower wrapper having between 1 and 5 petals around a foam core to form a first flower construct, or bud. A bird feeder with detachable decorative and camouflage features is disclosed. The bird feeder includes a base supporting a housing configured to contain bird feed. In one embodiment, the base includes feeding posts having an annular groove for receiving a synthetic flower and elastic ring to provide a detachable decorative feature. In other embodiments, the bird feeder includes a foliage support having a plurality of foliage receptacles. The foliage receptacles have a serrated inner surface for receiving and retaining the stem of detachable foliage.
