STEER AXLE TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM
A steer axle spindle may have one or more channels formed therein. A rotary union may be mounted to a steer axle wheel end assembly. The rotary union may be sealingly connected to a pressurized fluid source through the channel, and sealingly connected to a vehicle tire.
Steering Pivot Pin Forming an Internal Pneumatic Passage
The invention relates to an assembly including a hydraulic apparatus having a rotor and a stator. The rotor is mounted so as to turn about a second rotation axis with respect to the stator and is secured to a device suitable for mounting a vehicle wheel. A pivot-pin element is intended to be mounted on an axle and is mounted so as to rotate about a first rotation axis with respect to the hydraulic apparatus. The stator is mounted so as to turn about the first rotation axis with respect to the axle. An air chamber is formed between the pivot-pin element and the hydraulic apparatus, the air chamber is connected to a distribution passage formed in the hydraulic apparatus. An axle passage is formed in the pivot-pin element so as to form a pneumatic passage between the pivot-pin element and the hydraulic apparatus.
Rotary joint air collector ring and the tire inflation system made therewith
An assembly for a tire inflation system including a spindle having a fluid conduit. The spindle is coupled with a rotary joint spindle, and the rotary joint spindle includes a fluid conduit in fluid communication with the spindle fluid conduit. A fluid collector ring is located about the rotary joint spindle such that the fluid collector ring may rotate. The fluid collector ring is also in fluid communication with the rotary joint spindle fluid conduit.
DEVICE FOR TRANSMITTING COMPRESSED AIR OR CONTROL AND/OR WORKING PRESSURES IN A CARDAN SHAFT ARRANGEMENT
The invention relates in particular to a device for transmitting pressurized media, in particular compressed air, or control and/or working pressures between a first fluid duct (4), which is received or formed at least in regions in the interior of a first, in particular transmission-side cardan shaft section (3), and a second fluid duct (6), which is received or formed at least in regions in the interior of a second, in particular wheel-side cardan shaft section (5) which is connected in an articulated manner to an end region of the first cardan shaft section (3), wherein the device has a line section (7) which is fluidically connected to, or can be brought into fluidic connection with, the first and the second fluid duct (4, 6) and the length of which is reversibly changeable.
Axle assembly having a tire inflation system
An axle assembly includes a connection assembly having a stationary portion and a rotary portion. The stationary portion is configured to couple to an inlet airflow assembly configured to be non-movably coupled to a beam housing, the rotary portion is configured to couple to an outlet airflow assembly configured to be non-movably coupled to a steering knuckle, the stationary portion forms a cavity configured to facilitate flow of pressurized air from the inlet airflow assembly to the rotary portion, and the rotary portion forms an airflow path configured to facilitate flow of the pressurized air from the cavity to the outlet airflow assembly.
PORTED WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY AND THE TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM MADE THEREWITH
A wheel hub assembly having a non-rotating outer bearing flange and an inner bearing flange disposed at least partially concentrically within the outer bearing flange. At least one rolling element is disposed radially between the outer bearing flange and the inner bearing flange. A port is disposed in the outer bearing flange, and a first conduit is disposed through the outer bearing flange in fluid communication with the fluid port. A second conduit is disposed through the inner bearing flange, wherein the second conduit is in fluid communication with the first conduit. A rotating spindle is disposed at least partially through the inner bearing flange, and the spindle is coupled for rotation with the inner bearing flange.
Rotary joint assembly
A rotary joint assembly including a rotating portion. The rotating portion includes an annular body and a pair of annular sealing members. Each annular sealing member of the pair of annular sealing members is attached to a side of the annular body. An air passageway is formed in the annular body. The rotary joint assembly also includes a non-rotating portion. The non-rotating portion has a non-rotating portion air passageway formed therein. The non-rotating portion air passageway is in fluid communication with the air passageway formed in the annular body. A pair of annular air seal members are provided between the rotating portion and the non-rotating portion. Each annular air seal member of the pair of annular air seal members contacts a sealing surface of one of the annular seal members to provide a seal around an interface between the air passageway formed in the annular body and the non-rotating portion air passageway.
ROTARY FEEDTHROUGH ASSEMBLY FOR A TIRE INFLATION SYSTEM
A rotary feedthrough assembly for a tire inflation system for a vehicle is disclosed. The assembly may have a stationary part comprising a first section of a main fluid line and a first section of a pilot fluid line. A rotatable part may be rotatably mounted on the stationary part and configured to support a pneumatic tire. The rotatable part may have a second section of the main fluid line and a second section of the pilot fluid line. A first annular seal chamber may be radially disposed between the stationary part and the rotatable part. The first annular seal chamber may provide fluid communication between the first section of the main fluid line and the second section of the main fluid line. A second annular seal chamber may be radially disposed between the stationary part and the rotatable part. The second annular seal chamber may provide fluid communication between the first section of the pilot fluid line and the second section of the pilot fluid line.
