METHOD FOR VERIFYING THE EXECUTION OF A PROCEDURE OF MOUNTING/DEMOUNTING TIRES ON/FROM RESPECTIVE RIMS OF VEHICLE WHEELS USING AN APPARATUS FOR HANDLING VEHICLE WHEELS, AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
Apparatus and method for mounting a tire on a wheel rim and/or for removing a tire from a vehicle wheel rim. Such an apparatus is usually known as a tire changer. The tire changer of the present invention is capable of verifying that the position of the inflation valve and/or of the TPMS sensor of the wheel, relative to the position of the portions of tire most subject to stresses and/or relative to the position of the mounting/demounting tools, as well as the intensity of such stresses, lie within ranges defined as acceptable. The result of such verifications is then made available via a suitable report document.

TIRE CHANGING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR OPERATING TIRE CHANGING MACHINE
A tire changing machine of the present disclosure may comprises a chassis base, a rotatable wheel holder, a tower, and an arm. A linear actuator is attached to the tower via a pivoting arm assembly. The linear actuator includes an implement on a lower end of the linear actuator. The arm includes an elongate portion, a coupler, first and second ends, first and second halves, and first and second claws. The coupler is located at a central portion of the elongate portion and is operable to couple the arm to the implement of the linear actuator. The first and second claw are operable to engage a tread portion of a tire.

Wheel clamp assembly for semi-autonomous tire changer machine
A tire changer machine, and method of operation, configured with a tire-engaging wheel clamp assembly to secure a wheel assembly consisting of a wheel rim and tire mounted thereon to a drive assembly, and for demounting of the tire from the wheel rim. Upon dismounting of the tire from the wheel rim, a recessed surface and annular flange of the tire-engaging wheel clamp assembly is configured to catch and retain a rim or bead of the demounted tire, restricting movement of the tire upon dismounting from the wheel rim, until retrieved by an operator.

PROCESS FOR TIRE DISMOUNT
Described herein is a method for dismounting a tire from a wheel assembly. The method may comprise inserting at least a first finger and a second finger between a top bead of a tire and a top bead seat of a wheel, pulling a portion of at least the top bead past a plane defined by the outer edge of the top bead seat, and moving the first finger in a first rotational direction away from the second finger. Also described herein is a finger for dismounting a tire from a wheel. The finger may comprise at least one roller having two opposing ends, each end connected to a corresponding end of a roller nest of the finger. Also described herein is an apparatus for removing a tire from a wheel. The apparatus may comprise a wheel alignment assembly, a tire dismount assembly, a bead lifter, and a rotation assembly.
Mounting/demounting tool unit with preloaded tool
The present invention relates to a mounting/demounting tool unit for mounting a tyre to or demounting a tyre from a rim of a vehicle wheel and for being adapted to be attached to a tyre mounting/demounting machine, including: a longitudinally extending tool carrier arm having a center line and a first as well as a second end, a mounting/demounting tool having a first as well as a second end and a hook arranged in the region of the second end, and being pivotally mounted to the tool carrier arm in the region of its first end, wherein means for reversibly urging the mounting/demounting tool in a resting/operating position and for positioning the mounting/demounting tool in said resting/operating position are provided.
