Jack and tow module for towing a trailer with a truck
A lift and tow module for use with a trailer and method of towing a trailer with a truck. The module has an arm having a connection point for securing to a tow vehicle and a lift body having a connection point for securing the lift body to a trailer. The connection point comprises at least two connection mechanisms spaced apart on the main body for connection to corresponding mechanisms on the trailer. A support plate is extendable from and operably supported by the main body and the lift body is movable in reciprocal directions. Mechanical actuators are operably coupled to the body and the arm for controlling respective movement, which allows the module to jack up a trailer, connect to a trailer, and/or tow a trailer.
Anhydrous Ammonia Trailer Hitch
An anhydrous ammonia trailer hitch incorporating a base; a vehicle mounting receiver hitch fixedly attached to and extending forwardly from the base; a bolt mounted to the base, the bolt being adapted for moving between latching and releasing positions; a release plate having a first eye fitted for receiving the bolt, the bolt extending into the eye upon movement to the latching position; a remotely actuatable linear motion actuator connected operatively to the bolt for moving the bolt between the latching and releasing position; a tongue mount fixedly attached to the release plate; and at least a first safety chain mount fixedly attached to the release plate.
System and method for connecting or disconnecting a trailer to a vehicle
System and method for connecting or disconnecting a trailer (102) to a vehicle (101) comprising a tow bar (201) mounted to the vehicle (101), a trailer hitch mounted on the trailer (102), at least one motor mounted in connection with the tow bar (201), a control of said at least one motor and is further characterized in that said tow bar (201) automatically can connect to the trailer hitch mounted on the trailer (102) when these are within a predetermined radius of one another.
Dynamic lateral trailer hitch positioning system
Methods and systems for adjusting a trailer attached to a vehicle. The system includes a hitch of the vehicle located on a track along a rear end of the vehicle and configured to couple the vehicle to the trailer and move along the track. The system also includes one or more actuators coupled to the hitch and configured to move the hitch along the track. The system also includes an electronic control unit (ECU) configured to instruct the one or more actuators to move the hitch along the track.
Systems and methods for movable hitch receiver
Methods and apparatus are provided for moving a receiver associated with a hitch frame of a vehicle. The method includes receiving data indicating a hand wheel angle; determining, with a processor, a position for the receiver relative to the hitch frame based on the hand wheel angle; and outputting one or more control signals to a motor coupled to the receiver to move the receiver relative to a longitudinal axis of the vehicle based on the determination.
Vehicle guidance systems and associated methods of use at logistics yards and other locations
Systems and methods are disclosed for controlling operations of autonomous vehicles and systems in, for example, logistics yards at distribution, manufacturing, processing and/or other centers for the transfer of goods, materials, and/or other cargo. In some embodiments, an autonomous yard tractor or other vehicle can include one or more systems for locating an over-the-road trailer parked in a yard of a distribution center, engaging the trailer, and moving the trailer to a loading dock for loading/unloading operations in accordance with a workflow procedure provided by a central control system. In other embodiments, an autonomous yard tractor can locate the trailer at the loading dock after the loading/unloading operations, engage the trailer, and move the trailer to a parking location in the yard. In some embodiments, the autonomous yard tractor can include a sensor system configured to detect the position of the trailer relative to, for example, the tractor, and/or the dock station can include a sensor system configured to detect the position of the trailer relative to, for example, the dock station during a docking procedure.
Trailer coupling
In a trailer coupling comprising a cross member which is mountable on a rear region of a vehicle body, a pivot bearing unit arranged on the cross member, by means of which a ball neck carrying a coupling ball is pivotally mounted about a pivot axis between a working position and a rest position, and a contact unit arranged on the ball neck as well as a cable harness guided from the contact unit to a vehicle-mounted cross member and provided for connecting to a vehicle electrical supply system, it is provided that a transition portion of the cable harness which runs in a movable manner relative to the ball neck and relative to the pivot bearing unit from the ball neck to an attachment point connected fixedly to the cross member forms at least one loop which extends over an end face of the pivot bearing unit extending transversely to the pivot axis and which varies in size when transferring from the working position to the rest position or vice versa.
MOVABLE TOW BAR ASSEMBLY
A movable tow-bar assembly comprising: an elongate frame configured to be attached to a vehicle; a towing attachment comprising a sleeve that is shaped to receive a section of the elongate frame and allow translation of the towing attachment along a length of the frame; and a driving arrangement coupled with the towing attachment and the frame for effecting translational movement of the towing attachment along the length of the frame.
SYSTEM FOR DETECTING FAILURE OF AN ARTICULATED STEERING MECHANISM
A machine includes a frame and an oscillating hitch. A first cylinder couples to a first side of the oscillating hitch and a first side of the frame. A second cylinder couples to a second side of the oscillating hitch and a second side of the frame. A first isolating mechanism couples to the first cylinder and rotates in response to a first rotation of the first cylinder relative to the frame or the oscillating hitch. A first angle sensor senses a first angular displacement of the first isolating mechanism about a first rotational axis. A second isolating mechanism couples to the second cylinder and rotates in response to a second rotation of the second cylinder relative to the frame or the oscillating hitch. A second angle sensor senses a second angular displacement of the second isolating mechanism about a second rotational axis.
Trailer Hitch System Including Actuatable Multi-Directional Trailer Hitch and Method
A multi-directional trailer hitch system may include a mounting frame; a first slide assembly configured to slideably engage with the mounting frame, wherein the first slide assembly is configured to slide longitudinally in and out from the mounting frame; a second slide assembly configured to slideably engage with the first slide assembly, wherein the second slide assembly is configured to slide laterally in a side to side direction relative to the first slide assembly; a third slide assembly configured to slideably engage with the second slide assembly, wherein the third slide assembly is configured to slide vertically in an up and down direction relative to the second slide assembly; and one or more actuators configured to selectively effect slide movement of one or more of the first slide assembly, second slide assembly, and third slide assembly.
