A clamping plate is dimensioned to secure a flexible spring member to an end member for forming a gas spring assembly. The clamping plate includes a clamping plate wall with an axis and opposing surface portions oriented transverse to the axis. An opening extends into the clamping plate wall from along each of the opposing surface portions. An elongated damping passage extends in a spiral configuration through the clamping plate wall in fluid communication with the openings. A gas spring assembly includes a flexible spring member that defines a spring chamber, and an end member with an end member wall that defines an end member chamber. The clamping plate is secured to the end member and retains the flexible spring member thereon. The elongated damping passage is in fluid communication between the spring chamber and the end member chamber. Gas transfer between the spring chamber and the end member chamber generates pressurized gas damping during use of the gas spring assembly. Suspension systems and methods are also included.

The method includes: providing a pneumatic structure in which the medium is at a medium pressure that is a starting pressure; providing an adsorptive material operable within a range of temperatures that is proportionate with a range of medium pressures at which the pneumatic structure is operable; and adjusting a temperature of the adsorptive material to effect an adjustment of the medium pressure to the target pressure for performing a selected function. The system performs the method and includes the absorptive material and at least one regulator for adjusting the temperature of the adsorptive material.

METHOD FOR ACTUATING A SOLENOID VALVE, AND COMPRESSED-AIR INSTALLATION COMPRISING A SOLENOID VALVE

A method for actuating a solenoid valve, which is loaded with a pneumatic pressure medium, in order to reduce a pressure (p.sub.sys) which is applied to the solenoid valve, where the solenoid valve assumes a closed switching position in the deenergized state and assumes a completely open switching position when it is energized with a switching current intensity (I.sub.s(p)) which is dependent on the applied pressure (p.sub.sys), where a first rise current final value (I.sub.1) is predetermined, which first rise current final value is smaller than the switching current intensity (I.sub.s(p)), where the solenoid valve is energized with an actuating current which follows an actuating current profile (SV1, SV2), and where the actuating current profile (SV1, SV2) comprises a first rise phase (TA1), in which the actuating current is increased to the predetermined first rise current final value (I.sub.1), and, following said first rise phase, a first holding phase (TH1) in which the actuating current is held constant at the first rise current final value (I.sub.1).
