An aircraft landing gear assembly (112) including a shock absorber strut (114), a bogie (120), a link assembly (124), and a movement detector (132). The shock absorber strut includes an upper and a lower telescoping parts (118, 116), the upper part being connectable to the airframe of an aircraft and the lower part being connected to the bogie. The link assembly extends between the upper and lower telescoping parts. The movement detector detects movement of the link assembly relative to the bogie. The movement detector includes: a piston (138) arranged such that relative movement between the link assembly and the bogie causes relative movement of the piston within a cylinder (136); fluid which flows as a result of relative movement between the piston and the cylinder; and a flow sensor (184) arranged to sense a change in flow due to movement of the piston within the cylinder.

A tandem suspension system. At least two parallel axles are connected via two eyeleted leaf springs. The eyeleted leaf springs have ends that terminate in eyelets. Each eyelet receives a bushing and adjustable pin. A bracket secures the axles to the eyeleted leaf springs. The eyeleted leaf springs are camelback leaf springs, planar leaf springs or bent leaf springs. Additional leaf springs are also provided.

A vehicle suspension system can include a trunnion tube positioned between two axles, and at least one spring set attached to the axles and rotatably attached to the trunnion tube. An outer diameter of the trunnion tube can be substantially equal to an outer diameter of the axles. In another example, two of the trunnion stands can be positioned entirely between two of the spring sets and welded to the trunnion tube. In yet another example, a ratio of a distance between axle centers to an outer diameter of the trunnion tube can be less than 11 to 1. In a further example, the trunnion tube and the axles may be made of a same material. In a still further example, a ratio of the outer diameter of the trunnion tube to a wall thickness of a bushing on the trunnion tube can be greater than 9 to 1.
