A brazed heat exchanger, for example a heat exchanger to be used in an air-conditioning system, preferably as a condenser, includes flat tubes extending between a pair of header tubes and fins arranged between the flat tubes. The components are produced from aluminum alloys, and are brazed together using an AlSi braze alloy. The aluminum alloys have a zinc content of no greater than 0.5% before brazing, and zinc from the aluminum alloys diffuses into the braze joints to result in braze joints having an average zinc content of no greater than 0.1%.

Evaporator with cool storage function

An evaporator with a cool storage function includes flat refrigerant flow tubes, a cool storage material container disposed in at least one of all air-passing clearances each formed between adjacent refrigerant flow tubes, and an inner fin disposed in the cool storage material container. Each of left and right side walls of the cool storage material container has a contact portion in contact with the inner fin and a noncontact portion not in contact with the inner fin. In an overlap region where the left and right side walls of the cool storage material container overlap with the corresponding refrigerant flow tubes when the container is viewed from the left side or right side thereof, the area of the contact portion of each of the left and right side walls is greater than the area of the noncontact portion of each of the left and right side walls.

ISOLATED EVAPORATOR COIL FOR A TRANSPORT CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM

Technologies described herein are directed to isolating or insulating at least portions of an evaporator coil within a climate control unit (CCU) of a TCCS so as to reduce or even eliminate adverse effects caused by a leaked working fluid. Such adverse effects may include a threat of ignition, asphyxiation of occupants, damage to cargo, and other harmful effects caused by emission of a noxious gas. A leak isolation structure is provided to isolate evaporator tubes of an evaporator coil from at least one of a plurality of turns of the evaporator coil.

A heat exchanger, preferably for a vehicle, including an applicative stratification, wherein the applicative stratification includes at least two stratification strands, wherein the applicative stratification is configured in such a manner that when incoming air into the heat exchanger is supplied in the direction of the applicative stratification, the incoming air is spread out by means of the applicative stratification in the respective stratification strand into an associated outgoing air portion. Furthermore, an exemplary embodiment may include an air-conditioning unit and an associated method.

HEAT EXCHANGER DEVICE FOR THE PROVISION OF REFRIGERATION IN REFRIGERATED VEHICLES, THE MOTOR VEHICLE ENGINE OF WHICH IS OPERATED BY LNG
20210379967 · 2021-12-09 · ·

A heat exchanger device provides refrigeration in refrigerated vehicles operated by liquefied natural gas (LNG) which must first be regasified. The great temperature difference between heat-discharging cooling chamber air and heat-absorbing LNG evaporating at up to −161° C. conducts the heat flow via an introduced intermediate medium circulating in a closed circuit to avert the risk of combustible natural gas leaking. The intermediate medium is non-combustible, environmentally-benign liquid heat exchange media having low viscosity. The liquid heat exchange media operating temperature is kept above −85° C. using an additional thermal resistance in the heat exchanger which evaporates the LNG, so that the heat flow flows with sufficient temperature drop. A thin protective dry gas layer formed using sheathing tubes enclosing a tubular heat exchanger's tubes coaxially serves as this thermal resistance. Possibly escaping natural gas is determined by monitoring pressure in the layer, and the LNG supply interrupted.
