Work Vehicle
A work vehicle including: a transmission unit that is provided with, on a shaft that is provided in a power transmission path leading from an input shaft to a power transmission shaft but is not a speed change shaft, a gear member that has an engagement recess, and a claw member having an engaging claw that engages with the engagement recess and to which rotational power is transmitted. There are gaps in a rotational direction between the engaging claw and both ends, in the rotational direction, of the engagement recess.
BRAKE FOR UNINTENDED NEUTRAL MODE IN TRANSFER CASE
A number of variations may include a product comprising an output shaft having a radial flange comprising a plurality of teeth; a range shifter operatively connected to the output shaft constructed and arranged to selectively shift a vehicle between a low range, high range, and neutral mode; a mode shifter operatively connected to the output shaft constructed and arranged to shift the vehicle between a four-wheel and two-wheel drive mode; a dual drive gear operatively attached to the output shaft between the range shifter and the mode shifter constructed and arranged so that rotation of the dual drive gear drives the range shifter and the mode shifter; and at least one plunger radially displaced around the output shaft which is actuated by the dual drive gear to engage a slot between the plurality of teeth on the output shaft to prevent rotation of the shaft during a range shift.
Clutch control device for 4-wheel drive vehicle
A clutch control device is provided for a four-wheel drive vehicle for transmitting drive force to the rear wheels. The clutch control device includes a dog clutch and a friction clutch, and a controller that controls the engagement and disengagement of the dog clutch and the friction clutch. In this clutch control device, when there is a request to engage the dog clutch from a disengaged state, the controller, during the engagement control of the friction clutch, first controls the engagement of the friction clutch, monitors the change gradient of the clutch rotational speed difference of the dog clutch and starts engagement of the dog clutch upon determining that the gradient of the clutch rotational speed difference is no longer decreasing.
VEHICLE FINAL DRIVE UNIT (FDU) WITH WET CLUTCH(ES)
A vehicle final drive unit (FDU) of a vehicle driveline. The vehicle FDU includes one or more wet clutches that provide disconnect capabilities in the vehicle FDU, and includes a final drive gearset. Different techniques are provided for discontinuing lubricant supply to the wet clutch(es) when the wet clutch(es) are disconnected in order to preclude unwanted rotations that can be the consequence of adhesion among clutch plates in the wet clutch(es). One technique actively brakes the final drive gearset in the vehicle FDU so that the final drive gearset no longer rotates and no longer throws lubricant to the wet clutch(es). Another technique involves closing an entrance that leads lubricant to the wet clutch(es).
METHOD FOR OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE COMPRISING AN ALL-WHEEL DRIVE THAT CAN BE ENABLED AND DISABLED BY DETERMINING AN ANGULAR ACCELERATION OF COMPONENTS, WHICH ARE UNCOUPLED WHEN THE ALL-WHEEL DRIVE IS DISABLED
A method for operating a motor vehicle including an all-wheel drive that can be enabled and disabled, and a drive train including two clutches actuated by a control unit for enabling and disabling the all-wheel drive, and components rotating between the two clutches, which components are driven when the all-wheel drive is enabled and are uncoupled from the remaining drive train when the all-wheel drive is disabled. In order to allow early detection of defects and, in particular, bearing defects of the rotating components, and to determine the applied drag torque even without knowing the oil temperature, in one embodiment, when the all-wheel drive is disabled, the rotational speed (n) of at least one of the uncoupled components is measured in a time interval, and an angular acceleration of the uncoupled components is determined therefrom.
Four-wheel off-road vehicle having an anti-lock braking system assembly
An off-road vehicle has two front wheels and two rear wheels, the rear wheels being connected to a spool gear driven by a motor. The vehicle also has a left front brake, a right front brake and a single rear brake. Speeds of left and right front wheels are respectively monitored by left and right front speed sensors. A single sensor monitors a common speed of left and right rear wheels. Two user actuated braking input devices, for example a hand lever and a foot lever, may be used independently or concurrently to provide a braking command. An anti-lock braking system may use speed measurements from the various speed sensors to control selective application of pressure on the left front brake, the right front brake and the rear brake.
Work vehicle
A work vehicle includes a power transmission unit having a differential device for transmitting power to left and right axles and a power transmission mechanism for transmitting power to the differential device, and a transmission shaft for transmitting power to the power transmission unit. The power transmission mechanism includes a first gear mechanism to which power from the transmission shaft is transmitted and a second gear mechanism for transmitting power from the first gear mechanism to the differential device.
Locking Transfer Case
A transfer case comprises a primary output shaft, and a secondary output shaft selectively coupleable to the primary output shaft with a plate clutch to transfer torque therebetween. The plate clutch includes a housing, a plurality of interleaved plates that are engaged alternatingly with the primary output shaft and the housing to rotate therewith, and an apply plate non-selectively coupled to the primary output shaft to rotate therewith. The apply plate is moveable axially along the primary output shaft into a first configuration in which the apply plate is positively coupled to the housing to rotate therewith, a second configuration in which the apply plate rotates independent of the housing, and a third configuration in which the apply plate compresses the interleaved plates to form a friction coupling between the primary output shaft and the housing.
ACTUATOR MECHANISM FOR TRANSFER CASE
An actuator for a transfer case includes an actuator member, a face cam mechanism, and a motor. The actuator member includes a circumferential flange and an annular body extending from an inner periphery of the circumferential flange. The annular body includes a circumferential slot opposite the flange defined between two end walls formed by the annular body. One of the end walls includes a bearing member coupled thereto. The face cam mechanism includes a follower coupled to a cam member. The cam member is configured to displace axially when rotated. The follower is disposed within the slot. In a first range of motion, the annular member is rotated independent of the face cam mechanism. In a second range of motion, the bearing member engages the follower to rotate the second cam member relative to the first cam member, and the follower moves axially along the bearing member.
FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHODS
Methods and systems are provided for operating a four-wheel drive powertrain of a vehicle. In one example, a method may comprise: in response to a desired shift from a four-wheel drive mode to a two wheel-drive mode: decreasing a transfer case torque output to a secondary driveline to a lower first level and disengaging a disconnect device of the secondary driveline; increasing the transfer case torque output from the lower first level to a higher second level over a duration; and after the duration, reducing the transfer case torque.
