The bracket is operably coupled with at least one of the seatback and the seat base. A rear support assembly is positioned to extend at least partially along the seatback and includes a base operably coupled with the seatback. First and second struts extend downward from the base, and one of the first and second struts is pivotally coupled with a back end of the bracket. An actuator assembly is operably coupled with the base and is configured to move the seatback between the upright position and the reclined position.

A rotation of one or more of the screw shafts (111, 12, 113) caused by the motor (150) translates into adjustment of the seat according to a first degree of freedom. A rotation of one or more others of the screw shafts (111, 12, 113) caused by the motor (150) translates into adjustment of the seat according to a second degree of freedom.

An actuator provides linear motion between two points, and includes a motor, a spindle assembly and a gear assembly that connects the motor to a spindle of the spindle assembly and drives the spindle to rotate about a spindle axis. The gear assembly includes a gear housing that encloses gears and a portion of the spindle. An actuator assembly includes a cylinder and a piston positioned within the cylinder, wherein the cylinder is secured to one of the back support structure or the seat support structure and the piston is secured to other of the one of the back support structure or the seat support structure. Additionally a blocking member is positioned within and adjustable along the cylinder. With blocking member in a first position, piston is limited to travel to a first limit position and the back support structure to a first reclined position. With the blocking member in a second position, piston is limited to travel to a second limit position and back support structure is permitted to rotate to second reclined position.
Adjustment device for adjusting the inclination of the backrest of a seat of a vehicle
The present invention relates to an adjustment device for adjusting the inclination of the backrest (14) of a seat (10) of a vehicle, which allows to perform both quick adjustments of large angular amplitude and fine adjustments. According to a possible embodiment of the invention, the adjustment device comprises separate control elements (20, 22) for performing quick adjustments and fine adjustments, respectively, of the inclination of the backrest (14). According to another possible embodiment of the invention, the adjustment device comprises a single control element (20) for performing both quick adjustments and fine adjustments of the inclination of the backrest (14).
