Vehicle applique lighting system and lighting method
A vehicle applique lighting system includes an applique cover of a vehicle; a light source aft the applique cover; and a reflector having a portion that is outside a perimeter of the applique cover. The reflector is configured to reflect light from the light source on the first side to an opposite, second side of the applique cover.
LIGHTING SYSTEM HAVING POINTER DEVICE
A lighting system is provided herein. The lighting system includes a spotlight is mounted to a vehicle, a controller for operating the spotlight, and a pointer device for specifying an intended target. The controller aims the spotlight in the direction of the intended target based on input provided by the pointer device.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC APPLICATION/DEAPPLICATION OF BRAKE LIGHTS
Apparatus and associated methods include automatically activating and/or deactivating a vehicle's standard brake lights in response to signals indicative of the vehicle's speed. The signals indicative of a vehicle's speed are received from a vehicle communications bus. In some embodiments, a deceleration value is calculated based on a series of signals indicative of a vehicle's speed received from the vehicle communications bus. The calculated deceleration value is compared with a first predetermined deceleration threshold. If the calculated deceleration value is greater than the first predetermined deceleration threshold, a brake light activation signal is generated. When the vehicle no longer is decelerating or the computed deceleration value falls below a second predetermined deceleration threshold, a brake light deactivation signal is generated. The automatic activation/deactivation of a vehicle's standard brake light may advantageously provide improved safety to following vehicles and drivers.
Lighting Control System
A lighting control system of the type including an electronic device with a processor, memory, wireless communication capability and a user interface may be used. A controller may be used with a receiver to receive wireless communication from the electronic device and an output terminal with at least one lighting array in electrical communication with the output terminal of the controller. A power supply may be provided in electrical communication with the controller thereby providing electrical power to the controller and the lighting array. Software on the electrical device may be used providing a graphical interface with a user to actuate the controller to provide an electrical output to the lighting array. The combination may be placed on a building, vehicle or any object to allow a plurality of lighting themes and palettes. Music may also be used to control the lighting output as well as speed or acceleration.
Driver assistance system for autonomously indicating vehicle user intent in response to a predefined driving situation
A computing system for a vehicle includes one or more processors for controlling operation of the computing system, and a memory for storing data and program instructions usable by the one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to execute instructions stored in the memory to determine when the vehicle is currently in a user-selected predefined driving situation and, responsive to the determination, control operation of the vehicle to implement a vehicle response mode associated with the user-selected predefined driving situation. The vehicle response mode may include an initial control mode specifying one or more initial indicators of the vehicle response mode, and a conditional secondary control mode specifying one or more secondary indicators of the vehicle response mode. The one or more initial indicators and the one or more secondary indicators are configured to be perceivable by a person exterior of the vehicle.
PICTOGRAM-DISPLAYING SIGNALING DEVICE FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND SIGNAL LIGHT EQUIPPED WITH SUCH A LIGHTING DEVICE
The invention concerns a signaling device adapted to display pictograms, notably for a motor vehicle. The device is configured to implement at least one signaling function of a motor vehicle. The device includes display means including a display zone intended to be disposed on the vehicle, the display means being adapted to display pictograms in the display zone, each pictogram emitting a light beam having at least in part the statutory photometric characteristics of at least one of said at least one signaling functions.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR VEHICULAR LIGHT FIXTURES
A lighting device is provided for controlling the photometric distribution of light emitted by two or more LEDs. The lighting device may be integrated with a control system of the vehicle and may be controlled by a remote controller. The lighting device may be capable of being operated in one or more modes of operation based on operating conditions, user input, or both. Operating conditions may include vehicle conditions, environmental conditions, and user conditions. The controller may operate a software application to enable the user to modify, control, or otherwise regulate any mode of operation or other feature of the lighting system.
Headlight directional control for illuminating an identified object
Provided is a method and device to selectively illuminate off-road objects in low-light environments using directionally-adjustable vehicle headlamps. An object may be identified by a vehicle user and/or autonomous vehicle sensors. When the identified object is within an illumination range capability of a vehicle headlamp, a frontlighting control unit operates to determine vector data for the identified object, taking into account vehicle motion. With the vector data, a headlight pattern of the vehicle headlamp may be adjusted to align with the vector data to illuminate the identified object.
AUTOMOTIVE LAMP CONTROL
Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for configuring automotive lamp illumination control are provided. One example method includes, at a computing device, generating a graphical user interface for configuring at an automotive lamp illumination pattern. The graphical user interface includes user input elements and is displayed by way of a display device. An input command is received by way of at least one of the plurality of user input elements. The input command corresponds to the at least one of the user input elements. A message is transmitted to an automotive lamp control device by way of a communication path including a first communication port of the computing device and a second communication port of the automotive lamp control device, based on the received input command. The message is received at the automotive lamp control device, and an action is performed in response to receiving the message.
User-configurable indication device for use with an on-demand transport service
An indication device for a vehicle of a service provider associated with a transport service includes an output device and a communication interface for establishing a communication link with a provider device of the service provider. The communication interface can receive, via the communication link, a set of output configuration data associated with a request for the transport service to cause the output device to transition from outputting a default configuration to outputting the output configuration based on a determined state of the service provider or the transport service.
