An illumination device for an interior space of a vehicle includes at least one light source and at least one light surface. The light surface is formed by at least one at least partially mirrored optical fiber, and the optical fiber can be adjusted to a shape of a windscreen.

Transparent roof assembly for a vehicle roof

A transparent roof assembly for a vehicle roof comprises a panel with a transparent area, a light source arranged to provide light into the panel and an out-coupling pattern arranged on the surface of the transparent area of the panel. The out-coupling pattern comprises dots of a light-redirecting material for out-coupling of light introduced into the panel and propagating in the panel, wherein the dots each have a representative diameter of 150 microns or less, preferably 80 microns or less and wherein a total dot surface area of the dots of the out-coupling pattern is smaller than 10% of a total surface area of the transparent area. Thus, the transparent area appears transparent during daytime looking from an interior of the vehicle to an exterior of the vehicle, while sufficient light is provided into the interior when the light source is switched on.

A system and method for reducing glare includes a light sensor generating a light intensity signal corresponding to incoming light and a light engine. A glare control system includes a control module storing instructions that when executed by a processor to cause the glare control system to perform operations that include determining a color mixing based on the light intensity signal and controlling the light engine to generate anti-glare light directed toward the inside of a windshield in response to the color mixing so that the incoming light is combined with the anti-glare light to reduce glare.

Vehicular headlight detection and reaction system

Methods and systems to mitigate headlight blinding during travel in a vehicle by relaying location data from vehicles to a remote server. The remote server identifies vehicles approaching each other on an otherwise unoccupied roadway and sends one or more of those vehicles a warning signal. The vehicle receiving such as warning signal may then automatically take a headlight mitigation action.
