AIRBAG DEVICE
20230158993 · 2023-05-25 ·

An airbag device to be applied to a vehicle provided with A to C pillars, a door, and a side sill includes an airbag, a collision mode predictor, and a pressure controller. The airbag is deployed from a container to be disposed on a lower side of the side sill to a region on a vehicle-widthwise outside of a side surface of a vehicle body including the door. The airbag includes a first air chamber disposed mainly in front of the B pillar after being deployed and a second air chamber disposed mainly behind the B pillar after being deployed. The collision mode predictor predicts a collision mode of an object with the vehicle. The pressure controller increases or reduces at least either of internal pressures of the first air chamber and the second air chamber independently of the other, based on the predicted collision mode.

A rescue system includes an inflatable rescue cushion at the bottom of an automobile, which includes air cushion storage chambers in front, back, left, and right of the bottom of the automobile. A gas generator is correspondingly arranged in the air cushion storage chamber in each position, for inflating and opening air cushions in the corresponding air cushion storage chambers to form a front, back, left and right air cushion. The system also includes an electronic early warning and central processing collaboration part, which includes an external water level sensor, central collaborative processing unit, first grade early warning signal light, and a switch. The external water level sensor is connected to the central collaborative processing unit, which is connected to the warning signal light, the gas generator, and the automobile computer board. The switch is positioned in the automobile and is connected to the gas generators.

GROUND VEHICLE BUMPER SYSTEM
20230166681 · 2023-06-01 ·

A vehicle includes a body having a first outer periphery in a first plane parallel to a surface on which the vehicle moves in a horizontal direction; a bumper assembly having a second outer periphery in a second plane parallel to the first plane and including portions that extend beyond the first outer periphery; one or more flexible couplings coupling the bumper assembly to the body and allowing for horizontal planar deflection of the bumper assembly relative to the body when the bumper assembly impacts an obstacle; one or more sensors mounted to detect planar deflection of the bumper assembly and being configured to generate signals indicating the bumper assembly has deflected at least a threshold amount; and a drive system configured to propel the vehicle and, in response to the signals indicating the bumper assembly has deflected at least a threshold amount, cause the vehicle to stop moving.

A base rail of a trailer includes an upper portion configured to be coupled to the inner surface of a sidewall of a trailer. The upper portion includes a plurality of spaced-apart ridges configured to extend inwardly away from an inner surface of the upper portion and into a storage area of the trailer. The base rail also includes a lower portion configured to be coupled to the floor assembly of the trailer, and a bumper guard coupled to the inner surface of the upper portion and positioned between spaced-apart ridges.

Attachment structure of front fender cover
09744928 · 2017-08-29 · ·

An attachment structure of a front fender cover of a utility vehicle, the attachment structure includes: a front fender; a front fender cover attached to the front fender by being inserted to a first end of the front fender and locked at a second end of the front fender; and a retaining member attached to the front fender or the front fender cover and configured to retain the front fender cover at the second end of the front fender at a predetermined distance from the front fender in a state where the front fender cover is inserted to the front fender and is not locked.

Truck step
09744908 · 2017-08-29 ·

The present invention is directed to a truck step that is typically used with a lifted truck. The steps on the truck step have additional space for receiving a user's foot, shoe, or boot. The additional space is created by compressing a main bar on its bottom surface thereby creating an indentation in the main bar just above the truck step. The utility of the present invention is related to improving access to the truck step while at the same time providing a low profile appearance that does not distract or diminish the appearance of a lifted truck with a low hanging step.

Support devices for a vehicle and related methods

A support device having an elongated support member for providing protection to an underside of a vehicle. The vehicle can have one or more pinch welds, such as a vehicle with a unibody chassis. The support device can serve as a rock rail to distribute a point load from an external object, such as a rock or a boulder, to a larger area of the vehicle to minimize high loading forces to a single point. The support device can alternatively be a running board.
