INFLATABLES USED TO ADDRESS ROLLOVER
A vehicle includes a passenger compartment having a roof structure having a front header, a pair of side headers and a rear header. A headliner is disposed beneath the roof structure. At least one inflatable bladder is disposed along at least one of the front header, the pair of side headers and the rear header. The at least one inflatable bladder is connected to an inflator. A rib structure is disposed adjacent to the at least one inflatable bladder. The inflatable bladder inflates to a maximum height of 12 cm below the at least one of the front header, the pair of side headers and the rear header.
ROOF AIRBAG FOR VEHICLE
The present invention provides a roof airbag for a vehicle, the roof airbag including an airbag cushion mounted on a roof panel of a vehicle and configured to deploy downward from the roof panel to a location between front and rear passengers seated while facing one another, a front tether configured to surround an outer portion of the airbag cushion and having one end connected to a front side of the airbag cushion and the other end connected to the airbag cushion, and a rear tether configured to surround the outer portion of the airbag cushion and having one end connected to a rear side of the airbag cushion and the other end connected to the airbag cushion, in which the front and rear tethers surround the outer portion of the airbag cushion while intersecting each other.
ROOF AIRBAG FOR VEHICLE
Proposed is a roof airbag that is disposed at the roof of a vehicle and is deployed into an interior space of the vehicle. A bracket is provided to the roof. An inflator is connected to the bracket and configured to discharge an inflation gas when operated. An airbag cushion is provided to an airbag cover connected to the bracket in a foldable way and deployed into an interior space of the vehicle by the inflation gas supplied by the inflator. A tether is configured such that one end thereof is fixed to the roof side, and the other end of which is connected to the airbag cushion. The tether supports the airbag cushion so that, when the airbag cushion is deployed, the airbag cushion is deployed toward a seat.
Roof airbag for vehicles
A roof airbag for vehicles is proposed. The roof airbag includes: a main chamber configured to be deployed as gas is introduced therein through a diffuser; an overlap chamber into which the gas is introduced and configured to be deployed into a shape that overlaps the main chamber around the diffuser; and a support chamber into which the gas is introduced and configured to be deployed while overlapping a roof frame.
ROOF MOUNTED PASSENGER AIRBAG
An apparatus for helping to protect an occupant of a vehicle includes an airbag configured to inflate and deploy away from a vehicle roof toward a vehicle seat. The airbag includes a base portion configured to be connected to the vehicle roof and a cushion portion in fluid communication with the base portion. The cushion portion extends from the base portion toward the vehicle seat to an inflated and deployed condition in which the cushion portion is configured to receive and cushion an occupant seated on the vehicle seat. The apparatus also includes a deployment pocket for initially restricting the deployment of the cushion portion without restricting the base portion.
ROOF AIRBAG FOR A VEHICLE
A roof airbag for a vehicle longitudinally extends along a length between first and second longitudinal ends and laterally extends along a width between first and second lateral sides. An inlet for receiving inflation gases is provided at the first longitudinal end. A plenum is in fluid communication with the inlet for receiving the inflation gases from the inlet. The roof airbag includes a plurality of primary inflatable chambers, each primary inflatable chamber in fluid communication with the plenum to receive inflation gases from the plenum. A plurality of secondary inflatable chambers is in indirect fluid communication with the plenum to receive inflation gases indirectly from the plenum through the plurality of primary inflatable chambers. The primary inflatable chambers of the plurality of primary inflatable chambers are arranged to first drive deployment of the airbag and subsequently inflate the second inflatable chambers of the plurality of second inflatable chambers to tension the airbag in the lateral direction. The primary and secondary inflatable chambers cooperate to provide a barrier between occupants of the vehicle and the roof frame.
Roof airbag arrangement for a vehicle
A roof airbag arrangement includes an airbag, first and second guide rails, at least one first sliding member and at least one second sliding member. The airbag longitudinally extends along a length between first and second longitudinal sides and laterally extending along a width between first and second lateral sides. The first and second guide rails are on laterally opposite sides of the airbag, and define first and second channels, respectively. The at least one first sliding member is mounted within the first guide rail for translation within the first channel. The at least one second sliding member is mounted within the second guide rail for translation within the second channel. First and second pluralities of tethers connect the first lateral side of the airbag with the at least one first sliding member and the second lateral side of the airbag with the at least one second sliding member, respectively.
Roof supported airbag
A vehicle includes a roof and an airbag supported by the roof. The airbag is inflatable downwardly from the roof to an inflated position surrounding a seatback. The airbag has non-inflatable panels and inflatable chambers in alternating arrangement around the seatback in the inflated position. A widest one of the non-inflatable panels is adjacent the back of the seatback in the inflated position. The widest one of the non-inflatable panels is wider in a horizontal plane that the other non-inflatable panels.
Vehicle-occupant restraint system having an additional airbag
A vehicle occupant restraint system (10) comprises a front airbag (12) and an auxiliary airbag (30) both of which are assigned to a joint vehicle seat (22), wherein, prior to its deployment, the auxiliary airbag (30) is arranged in a roof region of the vehicle and, in the filled state, as a further front airbag extends ahead of a vehicle occupant (24) and between the front airbag (12) and the vehicle occupant (24) in the assigned vehicle seat (22) and bears against the front airbag (12).
Airbag apparatus of vehicle
An airbag apparatus of a vehicle. In the airbag apparatus, a plurality of inflators is connected to a roof airbag, and the plurality of inflators is selectively operated according to the information of an occupant boarded in the vehicle, whereby the roof airbag expands to optimize for the occupant in the vehicle and safely protects the occupant.
