The shaft portion extends in a front-rear direction, while being passed through the bag holder. The shaft portion includes a flange at the rear end. The slider is fitted around the shaft portion to be slidable in the front-rear direction. The damper holder covers part of the slider in the front-rear direction. The elastic member includes protrusions that protrude rearward from the elastic member so as to contact the flange, thereby partially filling a gap between the elastic member and the flange. The protrusions extend radially with an axis of the supporting member serving as a center.
APPARATUS FOR COUPLING AIRBAG MODULE TO STEERING WHEEL
Proposed is an apparatus for coupling an airbag module to a steering wheel. A coupling open area extends completely through a steering wheel in a forward-backward direction. A hook extends from a rear portion of an airbag module to behind the steering wheel, and includes a bent portion provided on a distal end to be bent in a direction intersecting a longitudinal direction of the hook. A fixing clip is disposed on a rear portion of the steering wheel and fixed to the steering wheel, with an end of the fixing clip being caught by and coupled to the bent portion of the hook to stop movement of the hook forward of the steering wheel. A catching protrusion protrudes from the rear portion of the steering wheel to catch the end of the fixing clip and stop movement of the fixing clip when the hook is decoupled.
Spring element for fastening an air bag module to a vehicle steering wheel, and steering wheel assembly comprising such a spring element
The invention relates to a spring element (10) for fastening an airbag module (12) to a vehicle steering wheel (14), having a first spring section (16) which extends from a tool access point (P) via a first bearing point (18) as far as a first free spring end (20), and a second spring section (22) which extends from the tool access point (P) via a second bearing point (24) as far as a second free spring end (26), wherein the tool access point (P) is spaced apart from a connecting section (28) between the two free spring ends (20, 26), wherein the tool access point (P) is spaced apart from a connecting section (28) between the two free spring ends (20, 26) and is displaceable in an actuating direction (x) toward the connecting section (28), and wherein the spring sections (16, 22) are shaped such that the free spring ends (20, 26) move toward each other or away from each other during a displacement of the tool access point (P) in the actuating direction (x) if the first bearing point (18) and the second bearing point (24) are held substantially non-displaceably in the actuating direction (x).
Vibration damper for coupling an airbag module to a vehicle steering wheel
A damper assembly configured to mount an airbag module to a steering wheel including a steering wheel armature includes a damper element configured to engage the steering wheel armature and to extend through an opening in the steering wheel armature. The damper assembly also includes a pin configured to be connected to the airbag module and a cap structure configured to extend through the opening in the steering wheel armature. The cap structure is configured to receive the pin for axial movement so that the airbag module can move axially relative to the steering wheel armature. The damper element isolates the airbag module, the pin, and the cap structure from the steering wheel armature.
Vibration reduction structure for vehicle steering wheel
This invention provides a vehicle steering wheel vibration reducing structure capable of effectively damping induced vibration generated in the steering wheel and contributing to vibration reduction in both low frequency bands and high frequency bands. A vehicle steering wheel vibration reducing structure, where the vehicle steering wheel structure is such that an airbag module, which serves as a damper mass, is attached to the steering wheel via vibration damping parts to damp vibrations of the steering wheel, and where the airbag module is formed such that the upper region above the center of steering of the steering wheel is lighter than the lower region, with reference to a neutral position of the steering wheel.
Steering wheel assembly having pivotable airbag module
A steering wheel assembly includes a steering wheel and an airbag module. The steering wheel includes a hub portion that has a hook member and a first bracket opposed to the hook member and having an access hole. The airbag module is pivotably attached to the hub portion of the steering wheel and includes a latch member and a second bracket opposed to the latch member and having an access hole. The latch member is pivotably attached to the hook member, and the first bracket and the second bracket overlap with each other such that the access holes form a port that receives a fastener.
