AUTONOMOUS DRIVING SYSTEM FOR A RACING CAR OR OTHER VEHICLE
An autonomous driving system for a vehicle (e.g. a racing car) is installed in the space normally allocated to a human driver and is attached to the pre-existing anchor points used for structures that are no longer needed once a human is no longer required, such as the crash protection anchor points. The autonomous driving system enables AI and robotics technology to be seamlessly integrated into existing high-performance race car designs without requiring significant design modifications to the vehicle. This invention enables a new era of motorsport, where for example human drivers in a Formula One car can compete against the same car controlled by an autonomous driving system, because the design integrity of all cars remain identical.
MHEV OPERATING STRATEGY FOR OPTIMIZED DRIVING DYNAMICS
An operating strategy optimized for dynamic requirements for 48V drive systems of MHEV.
Method and Apparatus for Automatic Adjustment of a Vehicle to a Predetermined Performance Condition
A method for automatic adjustment of the performance of a vehicle may include detecting at least one significant physical quantity for checking the performance of the vehicle; defining at least one pair of reference indicators correlated with that physical quantity; saving at least one value of a said reference indicator in a predetermined nominal reference condition; detecting at least one value of a said reference indicator in a real operating condition of the vehicle; comparing said nominal reference indicator and real reference indicator and, if their values are different from each other, and implementing a correction of the driving power of the vehicle to compensate for the difference ascertained.
DRIVING ANALYSIS AND INSTRUCTION DEVICE
A racing coach device stores an optimal path of travel along a racetrack, the optimal path of travel formed of a plurality of segments and associated with a plurality of driving maneuvers. A location determining component configured to receive a location signal and determine a current geolocation of the racing coach device using the location signal. The racing coach device determines, based on the current geolocation of an automobile, a next driving maneuver along the plurality of driving maneuvers and a geolocation associated with the next driving maneuver. The device controls a speaker to provide audible driving instructions based on the determined next driving maneuver along the optimal path of travel before the racing coach device arrives at the geolocation associated with the next driving maneuver.

Driving analysis and instruction device
A racing coach device stores a first path of travel along a racetrack over a first time period and a second path of travel along the racetrack over a second time period. The racing coach device identifies, for each of a plurality of geolocations along the racetrack, one of the first path of travel or the second path of travel that is associated with a shorter duration of time over which the user traversed a segment of the path of travel associated with each of the plurality of geolocations. The device determines an optimal path of travel along the racetrack based on the identified first and second path of travel for each segment of the path of travel at each of the plurality of geolocations that results in a calculated lap time to traverse the racetrack that is less than the first time period and the second time period.
Method and apparatus for automatic adjustment of a vehicle to a predetermined performance condition
A method for automatic adjustment of the performance of a vehicle including the steps of detecting at least one significant physical quantity for checking the performance of the vehicle; defining at least one pair of reference indicators correlated with that physical quantity; saving at least one value of a said reference indicator in a predetermined nominal reference condition; detecting at least one value of a said reference indicator in a real operating condition of the vehicle; comparing said nominal reference indicator and real reference indicator and, if their values are different from each other, and implementing a correction of the driving power of the vehicle to compensate for the difference ascertained.
VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM
In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, systems, and program products for performing vehicle control. A computing system determines a difference between a recent rate of change and a historical rate of change of a rotating vehicle shaft of a vehicle during a vehicle race. The computing system determines that the difference between the recent rate of change of the rotating vehicle shaft and the historical rate of change of the rotating vehicle shaft satisfies a criteria for limiting vehicle power, wherein the computing system changes the criteria for limiting vehicle power during the vehicle race. The computing system sends a signal for receipt by a vehicle component of the vehicle, to cause the vehicle component to limit rotation of the rotating vehicle shaft.

Vehicle control system
In general, the subject matter described in this disclosure can be embodied in methods, systems, and program products for performing vehicle control. Multiple target rotation rates for a vehicle shaft may be identified. A first actual rotation rate may be determined to exceed a first target rotation rate. In response, a computing system may send a first signal in order to cause a first component of a vehicle to limit the rate of rotation of the vehicle shaft. A second actual rotation rate may be determined to be below a second target rotation rate. In response, the computing system may send a second signal in order to cause the first component of the vehicle or a second component of the vehicle to increase the rate of rotation of the vehicle shaft.
