Systems, methods, and computer program products for upgrading a vehicle's functionality based on the manner in which the vehicle is operated. A predefined operating condition of the vehicle that can be assisted by a vehicle feature not presently provided by the vehicle is identified. Thereafter, a notification is communicated to a user interface that indicates availability of the vehicle feature. Subsequently, the vehicle is upgraded to provide the vehicle feature responsive to input to the user interface submitting a request to perform the upgrade.

A method for operating a motor vehicle in the event of an unavoidable collision with a collision object, in particular another vehicle. Environment data relating to the collision object are determined by an environment sensor device including at least one environment sensor and are evaluated to determine at least one driving intervention information for reducing the consequences of a collision. The motor vehicle is automatically guided in accordance with the driving intervention information, and the evaluation of the environment data is carried out together with structural information of the own motor vehicle describing the vehicle structure, in particular including elements absorbing collision energy of the motor vehicle, in such a way that a changed collision point maximizing the deformation energy absorbed by the vehicle structure and to be produced by the driving intervention information is determined when the driving intervention information is determined.

Systems and methods are provided for determining whether a vehicle route passes a photogenic location and, if so, capturing an image at the photogenic location. The user can be provided with an option to take a detour to a nearby photogenic location. Additionally, a route can be selected based on one or more photogenic locations along the route. Captured images are provided to the user.
Control of activation threshold for vehicle safety systems
There is presented a method for controlling an activation threshold of a safety system of a vehicle. The method comprises receiving map data from a remote data repository, said map data comprising a geographical location of a dynamic object located in a surrounding area of an expected path of the vehicle, determining a geographical location of the vehicle by means of a localization system of the vehicle, and lowering an activation threshold value of the safety system when the geographical location of the vehicle is within a predefined distance from the dynamic object. The presented method provides for an efficient means for preparing e.g. an emergency brake assist system of a vehicle in potentially critical situations.

A method of processing data for a driving automation system, the method comprising steps of: obtaining image data from a camera of an autonomous vehicle, AV; image processing the image data to obtain a vehicle registration mark, VRM, of another vehicle within the surrounding area of the AV; looking up the VRM in a vehicle information database to obtain information indicative of the make, the model and the date of manufacture of the other vehicle; looking up information indicative of the make, the model and the date of manufacture of the other vehicle in a vehicle dimensions database to obtain at least one dimension of the other vehicle; and updating a context of the autonomous vehicle based on said at least one dimension of the other vehicle.

The method includes: obtaining perception information of road conditions around a vehicle; determining a first control decision based on the perception information and autonomous driving decision logic; controlling the vehicle to perform autonomous driving according to the first control decision; determining, in response to detecting an assisted driving instruction, a second control decision that is different from the first control decision based on the perception information, the autonomous driving decision logic, and the assisted driving instruction; and controlling the vehicle to perform autonomous driving according to the second control decision.
