TRACK SECTION WITH CROSSBAR AND TRACK BELT FORMED BY SUCH TRACK SECTIONS
20220355875 · 2022-11-10 ·

A track section (1) adapted to be linked to a plurality of similar track sections to form a track belt for mounting around the outer periphery of vehicle tyres. The track section comprises a crossbar (11) and two lateral support members (126a, 12b). The crossbar is lattice-like and formed by two or more flat, upright and elongated crossbar elements (16) and two or more connecting elements (17). The crossbar elements (16) extend in parallel with each other and empty spaces are provided between them. Each connecting element (17) extends across and is fixed to the crossbar elements (16) in order to act as a spacer between the crossbar elements. Each connecting element (17) projects from the crossbar elements (16) on the outer side (14) of the crossbar (11).

Track system to be mounted on a vehicle in place of a rotatable OEM tire/wheel assembly, including: A frame. A drive wheel is rotatably mounted on the frame, operatively connectable to the drive shaft of the vehicle, and has a diameter of between 65% and 100% of the OEM tire diameter. Leading and trailing idler wheel assemblies are mounted on the frame. An endless track having an inner surface is disposed around the drive wheel, the leading and trailing idler wheel assemblies. The endless track has an unsupported portion between the drive wheel and one of the leading and trailing idler wheel assemblies. The unsupported portion has a length and a center. The unsupported portion deflects a distance of between 8% and 12% of its length on application of a 25-lb. force at its center.

A tractive element for a power machine can include a frame, an endless track, a drive sprocket, and a first set of split rollers. The first set of rollers can include a first roller rotatably coupled to the first plate with a first axis of rotation and a second roller rotatably coupled to the second plate with a second axis of rotation. The first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation can be spaced apart from one another with a first roller offset distance, along a front-to-back direction of the tractive element, that can provide improved ride quality.

There is disclosed a track assembly having a frame; an endless track engaged with a track wheel system, the track wheel system having a track driving wheel and at least another wheel. An axle engaging device is rotatably mounted to the frame and is securable to a driven axle of a vehicle. An axis of rotation of the axle engaging device is spaced apart from a ground contacting area of the endless track by a distance taken along an axis perpendicular to the ground contacting area. A mechanism drivingly engages the axle engaging device to the track driving wheel. The mechanism defines a speed ratio defined as a rotational speed of the track driving wheel over a rotational speed of the axle engaging device. The distance is greater than a product of the speed ratio by a radius of the track driving wheel.
