Anti-slip coverings for surfaces

Anti-slip coverings for underlying surfaces are shown and described. The anti-slip coverings include a layer made of a semi-flexible material that is configured to receive contact from an object and has slits at least partially extended through the layer. The layer includes a cut-out pattern comprised of a plurality of cut outs cooperatively aligned with the slits to enable the slits to at least partially open when one or more of a downward force and a horizontal force is applied by the object onto the anti-slip covering. In some examples, the anti-slip covering includes a second layer disposed between the first layer and the underlying surface to allow compression of the first layer when a downward force is applied on the anti-slip covering.

A front flying line kite depower system includes a line sheath that extends through a transverse opening in the control bar. A front flying line parting fitting is non-rotatably fixed to an upper end of the line sheath above the control bar. When a manual rotation force is imparted to the line sheath, the relative positioning of a first front flying line and a second front flying line is altered by the front flying line parting fitting to untangle any twisting above the line sheath. Within the line sheath, the second front flying line is off-set from a primary axis and orbits the first front flying line which is positioned on the primary axis to avoid any tangling during manual adjustment.

The surf leash apparatus includes a cuff for attaching to a limb of a surfer, an attachment mechanism for attaching to a surfboard, and a leash cord connected between the cuff and the attachment mechanism. The leash cord includes an elastic fiber rope core having a predetermined amount of stretch, and an extruded thermoplastic urethane cord surrounding the elastic fiber rope core. The extruded thermoplastic urethane cord has an elasticity corresponding to the predetermined amount of stretch of the elastic fiber rope.

A hull assembly is configured to transport a human user in water. The hull assembly includes a bow, having a bow concave portion. A port hull is joined to the bow. The port hull is adopted to accommodate a first foot of a human user. A starboard hull is joined to the bow and offset from the port hull by the bow concave portion. The starboard hull is adapted to accommodate a second foot of the human user. When a first port hull weight varies from a second port hull weight, the first port hull vertically deflects relative to the second port hull to increase the balance and stability of the human user and increase maneuverability of the vessel.
